It's funny... I keep leaving my guns to their own devices and they never get up and go kill anybody. Maybe they're defective.

This has got to be one of the stupidest arguments I've ever heard out of the mouths of gun advocates.

Make a fucking argument or shut the fuck up. Don't be stupid for the sake of being stupid.

Sorry, I forgot I'm dealing with a double-digit IQ. The argument, for those incapable of critical or abstract thought, is that guns are tools, inanimate objects, and therefore not the problem in and of themselves.

Speaking of double digit IQs. In what world would you think the "other side" would believe a gun is anything more than an inanimate object? That you use it as an argument shows how very low your IQ is. There are plenty of intelligent, well-thought out arguments to be made for anti-gun control laws. But, this isn't one of them. It speaks more to your low intelligence than it might indicate mine.

That would be the world in which you fucking monkeys keep blaming guns for crime, mass shootings, and every other goddamn thing.

Try running it with a different spin: the next time a bad cop kills someone, why don't you just blame his gun? Try it and see how it plays.

Thank you for making the argument. It's not the guns, IT'S THE MORONS WHO CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THEM that's the problem.

Interesting that suddenly you're using "fucking monkeys" in every post ...

However, to your point, what other object is used so often in mass shootings? What other object is used in "armed robbery"? The idea that guns are the great equalizer, I've found, is when someone decides someone else's property should belong to them so, they use "the great equalizer" to ensure they have equal opportunity to someone else's belongings.

If possible, think about what you just said there.

Only every weapon known to man, firearms included.

You are making the argument right there for all citizens to carry a firearm. You're absolutely right- criminals SHOULD NOT be the only ones able to arm themselves. Thank you! You may have an....

"so often". If possible, think about what I just said there.

"armed" robbery. definition of "armed robbery - aggravated form of theft that involves the use of a lethal weapon to perpetrate violence or the threat of violence (intimidation) against a victim.

Tell me, what is the most lethal weapon you know?

That you think that is an argument for everyone to carry guns, shows your limited intelligence. You might want to try a third argument.

Emphasis mine in the second article. You'll never be able to get those type of restrictions in the US. and I'm not quite sure how necessary or effective they are for law abiding citizens anyway. Furthermore, Chicago has a history of gang violence that accounts for a lot of shootings. Chicago as well as many of major cities where blacks are killed and shootings occur are run by Democrats. They are the ones creating the conditions for gaps between the rich and the poor to occur, thus contributing to the rise in gang activity. It's the same reason why a lot of teenagers join terrorists organizations, it offers something for them when their countries are impoverished. These mayors use slogans and platitudes and say black lives matter, yet they don't seem to do much to improve black lives in these cities. That explains a lot of the rise in gun violence in the US. You want to blame someone, part of the blame goes to these Democrat mayors, but don't pretend Canada's nose is clean.

exactly... three mass shootings in a span of six years.
and look... we loosened gun control eight years ago, only to see gun crime rise.
also worth noting is the identifying motivator behind rising crime is economic inequality.

Precisely. It's not so much as a gun problem as it is an economic problem. I started to think that UHC was probably why there aren't as many mass shootings in other countries. While access to mental health would probably reduce some mass shootings, but not gang violence. Gun violence has gone down significantly since the 90s though. Whether you like it or not, some of that is due to increasing police presence and certain police tactics. It seems to me that the Democrats' policies aren't working and the better solution would be to create better economic conditions for people to succeed and gang violence will decrease.

Eliminate crony capitalism, arbitrary licensing fees and regulations that hinder small businesses, lower taxes, incentive businesses to reinvest in the community, have private-public programs partnerships that improves communities, incentivize and reward companies in a way that encourages competitive wages and competition in the market place, stop printing money and create a sound money system that limits crediting and promotes savings and also slows down inflation, raise the fucking interest rates FFS, put an end to fractional reserve banking, reinstate Glass-Steagall, end the fed, you know, what I’ve been saying for years. I’ll add that @Ten Lubak is probably correct that having healthy populace is key to a healthy market, I’m just not sold on the huge cost of UHC in this country. I will grant that a UBI may be needed now, but if we closed the gap on economic inequality, it may not be needed.

Here's a more recent one on economic inequality.
Again the biggest culprit is government intrusion on the market, not rich billionaires or whatever other bogeyman the left dreams up. Overall, things have improved quite a bit and some of that is due to tech job created by none else , but Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. More at the link.

Brooklyn 99 has ditched four unaired episodes in the wake of the Floyd murder:

B99 is gonna be interesting to watch because it's always been very alert to social justice issues but apart from the "end stop and frisk" theme and Crews' character being harassed by a white cop whilst he was off-duty in one ep, they haven't really ever touched on police brutality (unless watching Rosa choke-slam a guy in a caveman costume counts). This is a show where the cops are the heroes, how will they address stuff like defund the police?

There is considerable difference between “free stuff” and creating a level economic playing field where opportunity abounds and people are able to profit from their own efforts.
