Fully half ICE members belong to that Facebook group? According to a story on NPR 15 (fifteen) ICE members shared racists jokes, bragged about violence, etc. So ICE only operates with 30 members totaled? Color me skeptical!

I heard one amateur headshrinker call the Antifa group a "lifestyle choice", which makes a lot of sense. It might be their idea of human social interaction, their chess club or substitute for a fraternity.

My own guess is the vast majority of Antifa members would answer "yes" to the following questions (lucky me, only 2): did you do poorly in gym class, were you picked on or even bullied when younger, and are you mediocre with chicks?

Shame all they had to ask you is "would you like some roubles?"

Right or left doesn't matter. You use violence or the threat of violence for political purposes, you're a terrorist. The tactics I've seen used by Antifa frequently qualify. Yes, I know no one has an Antifa membership card; no one has an al-Qaeda one, either.

Now, the guy who milkshakes a politician and the guy who flies a jetliner into a skyscraper are not the same level, and those cases should be appropriately differentiated by law in their scrutiny and prosecution.

But the message should be delivered very clearly: you're not entitled to hurt or intimidate others for political purposes, no matter how noble you believe your beliefs, no matter how odious you believe theirs. Political violence isn't how democracies work, it's how they fail.

I can also tell you that there are pretty emphatic suggestions on the antifasc side here not to carry anything that would have a primary purpose as a weapon/no common explanation to possess. We have a greater number of "moderate" types with us -clergy, unions, old hippie ladies-and with the optics of numbers being the most important thing, being overly prepared would risk alienating them.
