Trump's Chief of Staff has tested positive and has almost certainly been spreading it around the White House. Matt Gaetz has also tested positive.
I suspect the only ways he knows to change course are to 1) double down and 2) lash out at anyone who seems to turn against him. Strategy and, indeed, even strategery are not in his instincts.
I am really saddened by this. As a former neurosurgeon, one would have hoped that Dr. Carson would have taken the precautions necessary to protect himself. I hope he pulls through.
If he's positive, he should have taken precautions necessary to protect others. But, as Fauci quoted "I don't know how to explain to you why you should care about other people".
The presumption seems to be that he may have caught this at the election night function. He was on notice that at a minimum the president and others in attendance had been infected, and one would think that he would know to either not go or to wear a mask or take other precautions. I mean, they are not going to helicopter his ass to Walter Reed if he takes a turn for the worse.
Every single Trump supporter (especially the minorities) should be having that fact rubbed in their faces.
Except Carson knows which side his bread is buttered on. If he had shown up wearing a mask, he'd have been subjected to endless ridicule and possibly told to remove it or leave.
I am not sure which would be sadder: A) if he valued his health so low that it was worth it to knowingly take the risk of being among people he knew had been and could be infected and who would not be practicing social distancing, mask wearing or any of that, all for the purpose of brownnosing people in an administration that polls suggested probably wasn't going to last beyond January B) if he has fallen into the category of the demon sperm doctor and the Plandemic doctor and saw coronavirus as no big deal.
Does he think "asymptomatic" means he can galumph around without a mask and infect more people? Probably.
Rudy Giuliani will produce Georgia's weapons of mass socialism aaaany . . . daaaay . . . noooww . . .
What does it say about America when Trump and Giuliani, two fuckwits who never took COVID seriously, go to the front of the line for treatment when they eventually contract the disease? (Yeah, I know one's the president and the other is his lapdog, but still...)
Even if Giuliani had remained out of the public sphere, the fact that he apparently has an estimated net worth of $45 million means that he gets to be insulated from most consequences. And yes, that's f'ed in the a. Not that money alone will necessarily save you, or Herman Cain would still be with us. Of all the Republican coronavirus deniers who have been hit with it, is Cain the only one to die from it?
