Although I consider it farfetched that someone deliberately infected Trump, it is way easier to get multiple people who are infected to shake hands and breathe in his presence than it would be to get someone to slip something in his food or drink. There's zero chance of catching someone trying to purposefully infect Trump. And there are plenty of opportunities for someone to try it. He has routinely been at public functions without masks, functions that pretty much anyone could find the locations for. By contrast, there is a good chance that Trump would not even consume whatever hamberder or Diet Coke you might want to dose. Even if you could be guaranteed he'd eat it, there would be way more risk of getting caught in the act or that it could be traced back to you.
Look what you did, you made me agree with Jenee. Using covid as a targeted murder weapon is like...that Far Side where the dog tries to lure the cat into the dryer with arrows leading to it with "cat fud", written next to them, and the dog is thinking "oh please...oh please...oh please..". Too much to chance, is what I'm saying.
Never thought there'd be conspiracy theories to top the Moon landings and "the WTC was rigged with explosives," but here we are...
Hopefully this will not take too much attention off his shady tax returns, but if it does, it’s at least likely to spotlight his criminally negligent pandemic response.
I honestly don't think this will change anything. His devout followers will continue to follow him. Everyone else will not be moved by this. They will either vote or not vote just as they had planned all year anyway.
The little nest of MAGAzombies I visit regularly (it's kind of a Jane Goodall thing), which has steadfastly about his tax returns, the arrest of those two clowns tampering with ballots (but completely sucked into the Project Veritas lie about stolen ballots in Minneapolis), and refuses to even admit whether or not they even watched Tuesday's debate, started the morning with several "thoughts and prayers" threads, and is now rootling around Twitter looking for anyone, however obscure, saying anything negative about their Lord and Master so they can express their OUTRAGE!11!
I think a lot of things can all be true at the same time. Trump is a garbage human being. Trump’s actions and inactions have resulted in the unnecessary deaths of 10s of thousands of Americans and potentially over 100k. Trump and his Republican co-conspirators have done irreparable harm to the Republic, possibly hastening its dissolution. AND At this time Trump dying would do more damage than good. Trumpism needs to be clearly and definitively crushed at the ballot box if his Republican Party is going to be able turn off their current nihilistic path. Any excuse that can deflect from THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DO NOT AGREE is bad for our future.
Hope Hicks is reportedly not happy she's being scapegoated, having (she says) tried to follow COVID mask/social distancing guidance but been mocked for it in Trump's inner circle...
You realize that isn't going to happen, right? A landslide defeat would still be in the single-digit percentage difference.
Aw, poor Hope! (Irony of name noted.) Were you being bullied? Did you think they'd fire you? Would that have been worse than contracting a potentially deadly disease? What you're lacking is something called "the courage of your convictions," Sweetie, or maybe just "common sense." But those are just words to you, aren't they?
I can sort of accept the "logic" of folk like Mattis who swallowed their tongues and went along with Trump in the hopes they could prevent any major derailments and push through a conservative agenda. I don't respect them, any more than I do Paladin (anything goes by the board as long as JUDGES!!!), but I get it. Hope Hicks doesn't strike me as having had any agenda beyond self-aggrandizement, and if that's her aim then either she's easily cowed by NDAs or Trump has something really bad on her, because she's prime material for a tell-all book. I mean, she must've seen the cash Omarosa, Bolton et al made. She can't honestly feel at this point that keeping her wagon hitched to Trump is a winning move - the horse has ginger, radish and three condoms full of coke up its arsehole.
Do you think it would seem that way to the 40+% who voted for him? Or to those parts of the public who saw a nation commit crimes against them, happily, under his leadership? I don't have good answers to this myself, I'm just very sad.
