I really feel sorry for any medical personnel who have to treat him if he comes down with this. I bet he is one shitty patient.

Take a look at this short clip of him. His makeup looks like shit, his voice sounds off, and he does worse than usual when reading from the script. I think it's pretty clear that they're pumping him full of drugs in order to get him before the public and hide the fact that he's sick.

He sounds awful, but the problem with a short clip taken out of context is that it is all too easy to select the parts that seem to show what you want to show. That's the tactic that the Trump supporters use to try to maintain the narrative that Biden is a worse speaker than Trump. So it may be that this is just more of Trump being Trump -- the man is very often nearly incoherent when he speaks.

 

If it wasnt so deadly serious it would be popcorn stuff, but Trump is maybe only 2 more press conferences away from going full Jack Nicolson a few good men. Some world leaders are delivering strategy with statesmanship, not this guy. The pressure of reality has got him.

Fyi - not the UKs guy either although his chancellor looks to be able to talk a good game.

 

Problem with that analogy is:

1) He's not in court under oath, so outbursts like that won't matter (not that the one in the film would due to the leading questions from Cruise)

2) You might be disturbed to know just how many Americans think Jessup was RIGHT in what he said...

 

Never mind the big stuff like alienating historical allies, gutting the national intelligence system and general corruption, it's something on a smaller scale to bring this asshole down. His inexplicable rant against a reporter who asked one of the all time great softball questions exposed him once and for all.

Trump, shaking his head, ripped into Alexander in response.
"I say that you are a terrible reporter," Trump replied. "That's what I say."
The President proceeded to launch into an extended rant against Alexander, saying he asked a "nasty question" and assailing NBC and its parent company, Comcast.
"You're doing sensationalism," Trump charged. "And the same with NBC and Comcast. I don't call it Comcast. I call it 'Con-Cast.'"

"Let me just tell you something," Trump added. "That's really bad reporting. And you ought to get back to reporting instead of sensationalism."

After striking a somber tone earlier in the week, Trump in recent days has returned to his usual attacks against the press.
At Thursday's coronavirus press briefing, Trump smeared The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.
"They're very dishonest," Trump claimed.
Trump then praised a far-right media outlet, saying it is "very good" and noting, "They treat me very nicely."
The right-wing personality from that media outlet falsely said major newsrooms had "teamed up" with the Chinese Communist Party to attack Trump.

 

As I said in the other thread, the book by Anonymous pretty much asserts that Trump is borderline illiterate. His address on the coronavirus from the Oval Office last week pretty much proved that.

"That question opened an 8 lane highway for him to look presidential... like a wartime president instead of a president warring on the press."

Exactly, it was not a nasty question pointed at him, it was a question to let him soothe the fears of the public.

You would imagine that Americans should look up to their president in times of national crisis (partisanship should be cast aside) hell, according to hollywood folklore the rest of us (the world) should also be looking up to the supposed leader of the free world. What did we get? A defensive rant bordering on insanity. Now he is clearly under pressure and that is understandable, contrast his conferences with Merkel, Veradcar, Macron and our own Nicola Sturgeon. These people know how to lead and look like a leader.

This Covid crisis is only starting in the USA, its going to break him.
