Seriously, Clyde acts EXACTLY the way Bear and Cassandra and Chris and many of the other ousted mods acted. If he wants to troll then troll. But not in the context of mod duties.

Nah, he didn't really close that thread. He just used his status as somebody who could close it to further stir the pot. Trolling by modship does not reflect well on a BBS.

So let me get this straight. He accuses other members of things, refuses to back up his shit in the Help Desk, further trolls people in the Help Desk, then spams up threads in the Red Room to troll the same people.....and then, worse still, abuses his mod powers to shut a thread for no reason just because he doesn't like how it's going??

That the thread turned into a Clyde fest isn't one of those certain circumstances.

And Clyde if you did close it that's a very stupid move since it's just going to result in new threads opening up.

So wait. Let me get this straight: El Chup started a thread for, apparently, innocent purposes. But, thin-skinned cunt that he is, Captain X got butthurt and hit the "notify mods" button. Clyde saw it, made a judgement call that turned out to be wrong and you all are still butthurt about it?!

That isn't what the objection is to. It's the fact that he accused me of making personal attacks and refuses to say what they were. This is made worse by his open trolling of anyone who asks for that confirmation in both the Help Desk and the Red Room (the former of which is out and out against the rules). He is also randomly closing threads to avoid dealing with situations, which is an abuse of his role as mod.

Considering how you have spent the best part of the past year whining about rep, one would think that at the very least you would want mods to behave like mods rather than perceiving this to be about butthurt.

Ask yourself this, if I am the only one who was accused of personal attacks, what would the others have to be "butthurt" about? No, people are just a bit pissed off with what he is getting away with, especially considering various mods in the past have ceased to be mods for much less.

Yeah, I'm totally thin skinned, because it's not like there's ever been a call-out thread directed at me before, and it's not like I've ever been trolled in Media Central before. So, yeah, you're damn right I reported what I saw as a completely obvious, if mild, example of trolling directed toward me in Media Central. And Clyde apparently saw the same thing and saw fit to lock the thread in question. And yet in spite of explaining his reasoning for doing so, and the reason he never opened it back up again, this group of posters keeps whining and whining about it to no end, and insist that there has to be something dark and sinister to a mod closing down what looked like a call-out thread in an inappropriate forum for it, and kept it closed when another was opened in another forum.

And you're calling me thin-skinned? That's rich. I'm not the one starting multiple threads about it and demanding a mod's resignation or firing over a non-issue.

It's not a hard thing at all to cough up your reasoning for a mod call.

I did it all the time when I modded.

There's no secret fucking rule against it, and there's no fucking reason why "it's complicated", or "it'll take time".

The original thread wasn't and remains no attempt to troll you or Dayton. Did I follow up the thread topic in either the MC or RR versions to troll you? Nope. Did the actual first post of the MC thread contains a troll of either you or Dayton? Nope.

So yes, you were and are thin skinned. There was no troll and no personal attack. The effect of you reporting the post is to have made you look like a "toys out of the pram" style personality and has embroiled Clyde in making false accusations (not that I am blaming the latter on you).

On one hand you have performed a service by showing my Clyde is not fit for the modship, but on the other you have performed yourself a disservice when you could've just held back to see if I was actually going to troll you, instead of jumping to conclusions and making yourself look like a whiner.

I mean, someone with half a brain would surely step back for a minute and say to themselves "hang on, he doesn't like this film either so if he's trolling he must be trolling himself as well"? Clearly this sort of reasoning was and remains beyond you.

Listing posters by name in a thread, the subject of which is a commonly used in trolling in that forum. There was just recently a big bru-ha-ha about it in this forum, so is it really that hard to see? Especially when the video you posted looks exactly like the kind of thing the posters trolling critics of Abrams Trek have been describing them as? Did that occur to you at all? So I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that's exactly what CLyde was referring to.

Were you officially warned? Did anything happen beyond your thread being closed? If not, then why do you persist in whining and proving that you are every bit as thin-skinned as you claim I am?

Why would I hold back when no one else does? After all the trolling and thread derailment, I really have no patience anymore, so if someone's going to make what I feel is an obvious troll or flame, you're damn straight I'm going to report it so the mods can decide if they want to do anything about it.

I also remember you making a particular effort to distance yourself from me and lumping me in with Dayton in an effort to stop getting flamed and trolled yourself. Based on what I saw, it looked like a call-out thread and an effort to troll me. I can't help but think that if you'd been more like, "my bad, that wasn't actually my intent, so if it came across that way, could we maybe just change the name and reopen it?" instead of the whining and righteous indignation, your thread might have actually been reopened and Clyde might have been more inclined to say "my bad" himself. Too late now, though.

Commonly used by people who have opposing views to you on the film. Need I point out that RickDeckard also dislikes the movie but is in agreement that there was no troll or personal attack.

Simple saying that others, who like the film, have trolled you in that thread is not enough to qualify what I posted as a personal attack. No matter how many times you state "others trolled me over the film in MC" it doesn't then amount to that thread being a personal attack.

Saying it "seemed like a troll" is not good enough, Either it was or wasn not.

So, again, what was the personal attack in question?

That is why nobody, including me, has asked for the MC thread to be reopened since the RR one was started. For the last fucking time, this is not about the bloody thread being closed.

How many times have I already answered this question? It's about the behaviour of the mods, and be in particular not about whether or not I was warned or the thread closed - mainly because previous mods, including myself, gul and Diacanu were all told that this sort of behaviour is unacceptable.

Tell me, do think think that mods should make accusations of people without explaining them?

Do you think that mods should troll people who ask questions in the Help Desk?

Do you think that mods should troll people in the Help Desk itself, which is a breach of the rules?

Do you think that mods should randomly close threads without explanation because they don't like the direction it is going?

Are you able to answer these questions sincerely? Or will you run away and avoid them?

Right then, I'll ask you for the third time on this page of the thread alone, what was the troll/personal attack?

"Please identify the personal attack and explain the reason you closed my thread. Both Dayton and Captain X know that I am no great fan of JJTrek, so what is the assault?"

This was before you popped up and spat your dummy out. If that is not an immediate indication, without provocation, that there was no trolling intended then I don't know what is.

So, I ask you again, what was the personal attack/troll?

It's been explained to you more than once; your refusal to accept it won't change the circumstances of what happened.

Without explanation? No. But just not liking the explanation doesn't mean that one wasn't given. Don't think that RR threads should ever be closed just on the principle of it being in the RR, though.

Context matters. In this case the context was the history of that topic in Media Central, including your own part in it. Clyde explained his reasoning pretty clearly; you've simply refused to accept it, which is not the same as there not being an explanation.

You know how people used to complain what a terrible moderator I was? It was for doing exactly what you're doing right now. You'd be much better off keeping the dismissive comments to yourself.

So that is how many (anyone feel like counting?) past and current staff calling Clyde's trolling unacceptable and yet our do nothing owner says/does....?

Maybe Clyde just thinks that trolling falls in the category of personal attack, so he's blowing this question off as being self-evident?

When I think of a personal attack, I think more of an insult or insinuation about someone's character or life. This particular troll, if troll it had been, really wouldn't qualify for that at all.

Well, I'm asking about personal attacks because that's what I was accused of. But even the idea that it was a troll fails because the video posted in the thread in question applies to me as well. So I'd have to be trolling myself at the same time. Is it even possible to intentionally self-troll for no reason? That's where the stupidity comes into play IMO.

So basically what this boils down to is Captain X got butthurt by something El Chup said and El Chup got butthurt by Captain X's butthurt and Clyde is trapped in the middle while Anc is butthurt over Clyde's lack of compassion for El Chup's butthurt.
