Underfunded aired as a television movie on USA on November 8th, 2006.

It was clearly meant to be the basis for a comedy-action-drama series similiar in some ways to the later "Burn Notice" and "In Plain Sight".

    I thought it was underrated.

It starred Mather Zickel as a Canadian Secret Service Agent equally annoyed at his penny pinching superiors and at gung ho American agents.

The plot of the tv movie, was about an American billionaire "space tourist" paying for a ride on an American space shuttle when the shuttle is destroyed.

Surprisingly, the movie brings off such a wild plot pretty well.

Another thing that was interesting was that for a show clearly intended to be heavy on the comedy, the body count was staggeringly high with the hero (though Canadian) using his gun to great effect.

I think it could've been a great series.

For a year or so I thought it might be made into a series. You know how some of those things get delayed.

I've been contemplating a thread about it for several months now.

That's... the saddest thing I've ever heard.
