My old pair is falling apart, and it's time for a replacement. I'm thinking classic canvas, laced, black checks. It used to be that I could find such things on the net, but alas, the variety offered seems to be significantly diminished.

Can anybody point me to a pair of Van's that meets my description, size 10.5?

    PLEASE!!!!!

The best I can find are a size and a half too big for you :( You might have to get a pair of All Stars instead.

Why anyone would want canvas trainers when they could be wearing these is beyond me

Stick to the solid colors, unless you plan to borrow a pair of girly jeans from Kamel to go with them. :P

Gul, I called a local store and they do make custom orders. They suggested I check the website first but as you know, the ones you're looking for aren't listed. So stop by a store or have them shipped to you. :)

Elwood, I have a pair of Chuck Taylor's, too. Those and Van's are permanent parts of my shoe collection. No matter what fashions come and go, I always have a pair of all stars and a pair of Core Classics.

Clyde, I was hoping to not have to wait for my next visit to O.C. But it's good to know I can place a special order. I'll give one of the stores a call and see what I can work out. Thanks, buddy.

There's no Vans store where you live? Next you're going to tell me there's no In-N-Out Burger!

    ;)

I don't mind stopping by a store but it'd probably be easier if you just gave one a call. You know, shipping/billing info and all that. :)

It's been a while since I had a pair myself, maybe I pick some up too.

I command thee to do it!

Actually, you don't need to, you live there. For me, the shoes are a way to stay connected to the old country.
