Fox has a headline noting that you can see Venus during the day today. Every 18 months or so Venus gets a decent distance from the sun. Not quite bright enough to pick out by itself, but today the moon is very close. Find the moon, and you can see Venus today, if the sky is clear. I've been doing this for decades, and I can tell you today's the easiest it's ever been -- if you're ever going to try it, I'd recommend trying today.

As they pass overhead, the crescent of the moon will turn from a frown to a smile. If you see it as a frown, Venus is about four lunar diameters to the left of the moon. If you see the moon as a smile, Venus is to the right. Tomorrow they'll be ten degrees further apart and it'll be a lot harder to spot Venus -- it's difficult enough when they're right next to each other as they are now.

    Good luck!
