Just a thought, maybe a handful of anarchist dropouts who smash a few windows and such shouldn't be taken as representative of "the left" in its entirety.
If this is what it takes to hold on to a seat that Trump took +20 six months ago then '18 is gonna be super expensive for the Rs. (Is the twitter plug in not working for anyone else?)
It's hardly "pearl-clutching" to suggest that someone with such obvious anger management issues probably shouldn't be in Congress. Or someone whose outlook on life is "Hurr! Me big man! When me get angry, me punch people!" No surprise that Trumpsters would flock to that kind of person, of course.
I guess you are not familiar with Lyndon Baines Johnson. He was legendary for his ability to shepherd legislation through the Senate. He didn't get things done with his golden oratory. IIRC his favourite persuasive tactic was to grab fellow senators by the collar when they were near a secluded place like the Senate cloakrooms force them against the wall and scream expletives in their face.
And yet as president he did shepherd civil rights legislation through Congress and signed it. Which despite the other horrors he visited upon the American people earns him a sweet spot in the minds of countless liberals. Just as they always give Nixon a few props for the EPA.
That happened once or twice most notedly during the heated debate over the voting rights act. His actual favorite tactic was to blacklist funding for districts of reps who didn't support key party legislation. He would also withhold campaign funds at the DNC level. It worked too. He knew how to twist arms and just where to hit holdouts where it hurt thus getting legislation passed when most politicians instinct is to cover their ass and not do anything controversial.
Here's another one.... http://breaking911.com/raw-video-alabama-politician-attacks-tv-reporter-in-parking-lot-watch/ I think Google is rigging results. Had to go to Bing.
It probably scared them. There were lots of rumors for years that Johnson had some opponents of his in Texas murdered when he was a politician on the rise. IIRC, that included a poor guy whose death was ruled a "suicide". Even though 1) He was shot through the stomach 2) With a rifle 3) Five times.
but wasn't this the era of magic bullets" that do crazy things? Maybe he thought if it worked once, it could work again.
The so called "magic bullet" that injured President Kennedy and Governor Connally was anything but. It pretty much followed a straight trajectory.
I have no idea where Dothan City, Alabama even is much less who tgis city commissio er from 2015 was. I suggest this local level pol from a no name town two years ago just wasn't important enough to set off the seach ranking software. That certainly seems more plausable then the conspiracy theory you suggested.
A reporter who was a firsthand witness to an incident late Wednesday involving Montana GOP candidate Greg Gianforte and a reporter for the Guardian now admits she may have misstated some details of her initial story. http://www.lifezette.com/polizette/...lt-witness-changes-story-admits-no-neck-grab/
That is interesting though I would like to point out this has gotten very politicised and, well, she does work for Fox so she is likely receiving pressure. As police say contemporaneous accounts are usually more accurate than revisions weeks later.
