^at least the SNP are providing the option. the referendum may go against them, but i see no problem is asking the electorate. as for leaving the tories in a dominant position in westminster, i'm fine with that if the lib-dems can get their act together and act as a counterbalance. the prospect of new labour being annihilated and to be consigned to the political history books is political viagra for me.
tbh, the politicians aren't much smarter. it still amuses me to see cameron flashing about his green credentials for vote-winning when the public don't give that much of a toss about it. oh sure, they care, but they care about a lot of things that they don't give a toss about it in practical terms. get a party that promises people will be able to afford to pay their bills, will be able to safely walk the streets, afford to go on holiday once a year at least, be able to own a home and public services to be available when needed, and you've got a victorious party. modern politics is all about the fondant topping whilst forgetting about the actual cake.
