Then have out with it. Prove it. Cite examples. You can keep repeating shit, racist, but that won't make it true, no matter how much you want to live up to your hero Joseph Goebbels.
Oh, and @capt You are never going to beat dinner and Dayton if you do not come out of the closet. You are just a half assed village idiot.
You can keep repeating shit, racist, but that won't make it true, no matter how much you want to live up to your hero Joseph Goebbels.
Because I want to know what you think, not what some guy in a video thinks. It would help to know that you put some effort into critically examining the issue and forming your own opinion. Otherwise why should I care? You're probably not going to convince me that "death to all Jews" is actually an hilarious prank, but I'm willing to listen. To you, not some random video.
Armored Skeptic puts together a very good argument, which is the reason I posted it. My opinion matches up with his. This was nothing more than a slanderous hit piece, which was done by cherry picking PewDiePie's videos, including one where he was complaining about people accusing him of racism by, get this, cherry-picking stuff from his videos.
so, only white people can be racist is what you're saying? I'm not sure being a quadroon of any mix and match "racializes" you... sure won't get you a status card here.
And for those without: -Some popular YouTuber kept using racial slurs and generally offensive language, and when called on it claimed it was okay because he was only joking. -Some of his sponsors got tired of his shit and dumped him. All hail the free market! -This instantly made him a hero to Nazis, racists, bigots, and closeted Nazi racist bigots like Captain X.
Man, now Armored Skeptic weeps for fucking Pewdiepie? How the mighty have fallen. How depressing. 10 years ago (holy shit, its been that long??) I though the atheist movement was going places, but the hippie-dippie-granola-sniffers went too far, and mutated into SJWs, and then the anti-SJWs went too far, and became Trumpsters, and now there's nothing left but scorched rubble of the cause I believed in. You were right, Lanz, human nature is garbage, bring on the asteroid.
Ok, I'm not going to watch a 20-minute video, but I checked out some of it and I'm glad I did, because it gave me a little more context to understand where the non-Daily Stormer support for Mr. PewPie was coming from. That said, I think the prospect for a lawsuit is rather dim. He really did post the content he was said to have posted. It's not unreasonable to propose that the guy who repeatedly post anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi content might be a Nazi-loving anti-Semite. As for it being a hit piece, so what? You want to play in the big leagues, kid, nut up or go home. What I see more than anything here is a subculture that is starting to get big enough to get noticed by the mainstream a little bit, and they're starting to find out that what might be funny and cool in their little peer group is not acceptable to much of the outside world. For better or worse, when you are the newcomer on the scene the burden is on you to make the right impression and make yourself understood. Most people don't want Nazi/anti-Semite garbage in their lives, even as jokes. It's going to be difficult to raise a lot of sympathy for somebody who makes it part of his act.
And yet you're supporting them? Big fan of Faux News now? No, I'm saying I can play the same game you are, racist.
No, I actually watched it. (I was especially bored, don't expect me to make a habit of it.) You and your little friend there are still intentionally missing the point. "It's just a joke" generally doesn't make offensive language or images less offensive, especially when they're repeated over and over. Tell me, if I started posting "nigger" jokes and "humorous" lynching pictures regularly and swore it was satire, would you defend me as a good, non-racist guy that's just having a fun time?
You claim this, and yet by what you said, you've proved otherwise. Like this here, for example. It shows me you didn't watch that video. It also shows me you weren't paying attention to the Ramen banning your referencing either. Well, more that you have a really warped perception of things, but then that's already been well established.
I like Reason's take on it. http://reason.com/blog/2017/02/17/pewdiepie-alt-right-nazis-victim-of-poli
Except they didn't. They didn't address the out-of-context hit piece nature of what WSJ did, and they are completely ignoring the threat to humor here, as well as the implication of the follow-up article WSJ did, which was that they would be our moral guardians, scrutinizing YouTube for "the greater good."
Yeah, humour is under threat when a millionaire idiot makes a few less millions because he won't stop including offensive language in his little skits. Clearly, the future of comedy is at stake.
