The Trump Administration said that household incomes would rise by at least $4,000 per year because of the corporate tax cuts. This is far short of that, little more than a one-time PR stunt.
https://www.glassdoor.com/Bonuses/American-Airlines-Bonuses-E8.htm That bonus is actually lower than their typical yearly average Christmas bonus of $1300. "We are actually reducing your bonus this year but praise the tax bill or else we will take it away entirely!"
It's headline generating smoke and mirrors to placate Trump and his followers, just like the AT&T bonuses that were already negotiated amd agreed to well before the tax cuts were passed.
https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy...iming-tax-cut-would-create-thousands-of-jobs/ Comcast fires 500 despite claims that tax cuts and the repeal of consumer protections would help it create more jobs.
That link does not say that AA gives out a "typical yearly average Christmas bonus of $1300". I personally know several long term employees of AA, and this bonus is legit and in addition to any other normal bonuses that are given.
Glassdoor has been found to be pretty spot on wrt salaries and bonuses as that is, after all, its main purpose for existence. Hell, virtually all of the bonuses Republicans claimed to be due to the tax bill are either the same or less than those same companies gave last year and the year before that. You'd have to be a real stupid fucker to believe any of this is due to tax changes which haven't even taken effect.
My problem is not with Glassdoor. My problem is with your ability to understand Glassdoor. It is not saying what you claim it is saying.
The minimum amount is $1300 with higher ranked people getting more. This is below that minimum amount from previous year so your claim is without merit, not surprisingly. Crunch the numbers however you want, it doesn't support the claims made in this thread about the Republican tax giveaway.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/few-u-adults-report-bonuses-raises-republican-tax-110455099--finance.html And the info is in folks! Almost no one got either a raise or a bonus due to the Republican debt fueled tax give away. Shareholders will do better and the top 1% will jet ahead but everyone else? Nope, no evidence of that yet. @Turtle can now tell us his latest excuses.
Wow! A school teacher had her paycheck go up by a whole $1.50/week! What will she ever do with all that extra money?
Wow! At least she can stop worrying about her Costco membership! Thank you, President Trump! These crumbs are delicious!
