I'm pretty sure we have a multi-talented group of people here at WF so ...what sorts of creative stuff do you do?

Personally, I dabble in lots of stuff. I paint--oils, acrylics and watercolors., I play with digital art though I'm not very practiced at it, I create beaded and wire jewelry, I've written on occasion..bad poetry..even had a crappy poem published once, I've started stories but I'm afraid I haven't the patience for it, umm crafty stuff..cards, stamping. I've done quite a bit of drawing..pencils, charcoal, colored pencils. I like to take pictures with my digital camera and sometimes I like to play with those too.

Gosh, i miss doing a lot of that too. Been doing a bit of Jewelry lately for Christmas presents and sold a few pieces by serendipity even. But alas, I spent most of my awake time here or spending time with the hubby I rarely see lately.

So..what about you guys..what do you like to create?

I write and draw. Also have a model train and city under construction on the back porch and occasionally build (and light and motorize) model ships.

I started off as a fine artists selling water colour landscapes and acrylic portraits. Also a lot of pencil and pen and ink. I now write full time. Used to be in a band a long time ago and still play the guitar. Never did find the time to learn the piano and violin but maybe one day.

Also dabble in digital art, still teaching myself CGI and used to do a lot of model making, and woodwork etc.

I do all sorts of stuff, but not any one thing particularly phenomonially. (Maybe spreading myself too thin.)

I like making games. I find myself sometimes thinking up a brand new game in my head, and have to write it down, then I'll spend days working on it, and then have to stop when I realize I don't have the technology or the talent to continue, but I have a load of sketches in this one book. It's a pretty useless talent - unless you own your own production company.

Besides that, I draw. Good enough to do Sailormoon and other cute anime girls, but I can't draw animals or scenery.

And graphic design, but that is a job.

Looney, I did a lot of CGI back a few years ago. Used Infini-D on the Mac, and got top marks in my class in every project. But then Specular went under or was bought out by another company, and I haven't had time to learn a new 3D package yet. I dabbled in 3D Studio Max R2 or R3, but everyone I talked to told me if I wanted to seriously pursue a job in that field, I had to learn how to draw, and draw phenominally too. They will not hire someone who doesn't have l33t drawing skills.

I quit trying to learn 3D Studio and started focusing more on drawing, but my game creating, and Wordforge  get in the way.

Oh I remember Infini-D from years back. That was great in the day.

I've been teaching myself on Maya. I tried 3D Studio Max but you have to have some mad skills to get to grips with it I think. Maya felt more intuitive.

Writing (Kinda expected, being an English writing major).
Music (Singing, also play the tuba, for what that's worth)
And recently, have begun playing around with customizing action figures. As dorky as it sounds, I enjoy it. It's challenging, piecing together different chunks of figures to make something new. Some of them turn out really good. Others...go in the desk drawer.

Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Pops music in various ensembles, origami, Shotokan Karate.

I wanted to get into woodcarving but I've been swampped the past few months, and it doesn't look like it'll get any better any time soon. :(

The last fiction I wrote was in the second grade and I never had any creative writing assignments (asode from the occasional poem) throughout the rest of my schooling. While I can read and enjoy fiction, I'd be completely at a loss for words if I were to try to write it. It amazes me, the people who have the gift for storytelling, creating characters and universes that way.

I write, and nothing else, really. I appear to have a fair singing voice but nothing special.
I started piano lessons last year, but after a couple of months I realised it was actually beyond my budget, so I had to stop. I do intend to pick that up as soon as I can.
I did learn to print b&w photographs as a kid, and I am told I have an eye for composition, but photography is not something I enjoy doing much.

Gosh, I forgot singing...I do that all the time. I don't think I sound very good, Zel says he likes it, but it is excellent therapy for me. The controlled breathing and the high and long notes really give my lungs a workout..much more fun than an incentive spirometer.

Back in the day I'd have definitely answered this question with "math." The practical aspects of math never really appealed to me, but math as an art was a lot of fun, and it's something I'm quite good at. But, I didn't want to be a math academic, so that was pretty much the end of that as anything more than the occassional hobby.

As for now, I do the occassional creative writing--we call them "legal briefs" ;). I'd say I'm more creative procedurally than in terms of artistic substance. Call it creative problem solving.

Music largely. I was in a band from '80-'91. Singing, and, if absolutely necessary, drumming. I've written about a dozen songs that I'm currently still sitting on ;)

As for me? I used to play in a jazz band and then the various school bands before that. I like to build and fabricate from almost any material. But then again, my stuff is sturdy and not particularly pretty.

To illustrate that, I'm a avid model railroader and I can wire, build, and run with the best of them. But, my scenery skills suck. I had to bring in a friend to help me paint it all.

I also couldn't draw if my life depended on it. I'm not kidding when a stick man is about the best I can do.

I build models, though I'm not nearly as good (or prolific) as Forbin.

I mainly build armor, but I've built my share of sci-fi, too. I've placed both times that I've entered contests (a 1st for a superdetailed AT-ST and a 3rd for an M24).

Sadly, like most modelers, I buy much more than I build. Just tonight I counted 115+ unbuilt kits in my office closet.
