Not at all. MSM and the left in general seem to bring him (or conservatives/Trump supporters) up more than the right. I know CNN's ratings are in the toilet since Trump is gone. Maybe that's why they keep trying to make him seem relevant. I don't really blame them, the news is after all a business not a charity.

The House Republicans are going to shit can her because she won't kiss Trump's ring. You obviously haven't been paying attention, so let me lay it out for you. Trump OWNS the GOP. It's HIS party now. It's not the Dems that are keeping him relevant.

If Trump truly owns the GOP I'm at a loss as to why. They are IMHO pissing away a great opportunity to push young talent to the front. That said they can't wait forever to do this, 2024 will come up before we know it. I don't run the show but no matter how badly Biden fucks up, the GOP cannot run either Trump or a wanna-be Trump and win. They need to show to Republicans, Democrats and undecideds that they have a totally better, newer, different platform. They can talk all they want, but people will still have reservations because they've seen this movie before and sequels are often worse than the original.

Trump has a bunch of people loyal to him, and a party full of people who even if they don't like him will vote for him no matter what.

Those things being the case it seems to make sense for the Republicans to remain the Trump party, and you should probably direct your confusion at those who decided to keep supporting Trump through the depths of his time in power.

If Trump runs in 2024, would you rule out voting for him a third time even if we wins the Republican nomination? How about someone who is connected to Trump, like Don Jr., Ivanka, Jared? How about any of the people who have embraced at any time the notion that the 2020 election was fraudulent and Trump was the true winner?

Even if you personally would answer yes to all three, there are plenty of people who actively want Trump to run again or who would vote for a Trump surrogate/proxy.

There are only a handful of Republicans who have publicly broken with Trump, and currently they are being booed or targeted.

When the latest Republican platform is pretty much literally "Whatever Trump wants" it's hard to see them trying to make the attempt to show that they offer a better alternative politically.

I don't think it has anything to do with young talent. Plenty of Trumpers are young and new, if not necessarily talented: Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene. The problem isn't that old people are keeping out young people; the problem is that in Trump's Republican party, people with principles, sanity, or even the barest hint of an ethical compass are forced out in favor of those without.

Sure, and it's always been that way.

Cohen stated that's how Trump got people. He'd tell a lie and then wink at them and they'd both know it was a lie, and if they went along with it he knew he had them.

Amazing how absolutely sycophantic so many people on the right are.

They do realize that the vast majority of Trump supporters will also vote for someone else w (R) in front of their name?

Donald J. Trump colluded with foreign powers hostile to the United States of America and helped incite the only insurrection in U.S. history that attempted to overturn Congress' role in certifying the electoral college vote.

You don't think this asshole is worth discussing until he sees the inside of a prison cell?

Do you really think Trumpets are gonna vote for Biden outta spite just because the RNC ran a moderate?

They are sheep. and unlike the progressive left that can be rigid and inflexible to the point of self-sabotage (see also: 2004), conservatives plug their noses and close ranks when push come to shove

The RNC is doing it against Liz Cheney, the daughter of a former Vice President and more conservative than the toadie she'll be replaced with. They could've taken a stance against Trump five years ago but they wanted to play to the #NeverClinton crowd more. Fuck them.

Newsmax apparently could use some charity: anchor Greg Kelly was bringing up Michelle Obama a day or so ago as orchestrating a scam with Black Lives Matter:

He also thinks people vote for FLOTUS.

No, I don't think Republicans are going to vote for anyone without an R next to their name. But to get to the R vs D vote, you need to win the primary. Republican politicians are scrambling over themselves to suck up to Trump because (whether it's true or not) they think the Republican primary voters want Trumpublicans all the way down.

Some Republicans are making noises about a (Non Trumpian) 3rd party. I'd be a lot more impressed if there were any current office holders among them.
This band of impending defectors is putting together a letter, expected to be released on Thursday, which will come one day after a vote by House Republicans to boot Rep. Liz Cheney, a vocal Trump critic who voted to impeach him earlier this year, as conference chairwoman.
Trump spokesman Jason Miller dismissed the group. "These losers left the Republican Party when they voted for Joe Biden," he told
    Reuters.

    She was just voted out.

Her response in the press conference afterwards: You can't serve both the Big Lie and the Constitution.

I may not agree with her about many things, but she is sure of her convictions and understands the need - and fragility - of democracy.
