Anyone except ourselves. Said no member of the GOP ever, unless there was a charitable deduction on their taxes outta it.
I suspect the majority of conservatives are also religious, and tithing. Given this segment of the population I'd wager their charitable contributions are larger than the left's, without a tax motivation. Of course getting the fire-n-brimstone deduction might be a contributing factor.
If true, where do their contributions go - Joel Osteen? They sure as hell don't help the poor TLS so despises.
I think a large portion goes to help the needy here and in other countries. Maybe more than our tax dollars.
Well, at least the churches have some excuse for withholding foreign aid from countries that have contraception and abortion.
You're right. Charity shouldn't come from the heart. You should decide who cares and how much. Sad, but I'm sure you agree.
Not in the LDS Church's case -- most of it goes to line the church's accounts, and to help finance their real estate investments. I would not be surprised if other denominations do similar things with their tithing income.
Well, not yours, certainly. Withered husk that it is. What charity would it support? "Tranny bashers"? "Mothers Against Melanin"? "Fuck The Poor"?
