US town set to ban saggy trousers http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6751777.stm A mayor in the US state of Louisiana says he will sign into law a proposal to make wearing saggy trousers an act of indecent exposure. "White people wear sagging pants, too," he said.
Re: White US mayor hates black's style It's wrong, but...I just...can't...muster....the strength...to care! Argh!
Re: White US mayor hates black's style I'm all for it. They should now bring back cuffed bell bottoms for men.
Re: White US mayor hates black's style I reject the implication that there is a singular "style" representing all blacks, or that anyone is a racist because they don't like it. Hating the idiotic "saggy pants" appearance is no more racist than hating rap music, and for those who are unclear on exactly how it quantifies, that means not racist at all.
Re: White US mayor hates black's style I see blacks, whites, chinese, puerto ricans, haitians...you name it, in that stupid get up!
Re: White US mayor hates black's style Yes, it looks stupid. But why does there need to be a law against it? I expect all my libertarian brethren to complain about how the Man is stepping on their right to have their undies showing and the waist of their pants all the way down to their knees.
Re: White US mayor hates black's style I love the ones who expect me to be intimidated because of this half-assed wannabe gangster look. Hanging 3-sizes-too-big pants off your bony ass, walking like you're 2/3 of the way through motor rehabilitation, and wearing a surly look on your face doesn't make you scary, homey.
Re: White US mayor hates black's style Let's face it, black people have worn far more stupid trousers, as this smilie demonstrates... * *In the interests of complete honesty, thelurker must admit that she had a pair of said trousers in 1981
Re: White US mayor hates black's style I've got some sweat pants that were a bit...roomy on me back before I lost a bit of weight. Now my wife refers to them as my M.C. Hammer pants.
Re: White US mayor hates black's style Feck I put that apostrophe in the wrong place - can a mod change it to " blacks' " please.
Why is it indecent exposure? People do it around here all the time and they all have the decency of wearing boxers. besides. It's hylarious watching them try to run from cops in those things.
Your underwear is not supposed to be exposed. plus its just danged stupid. Why not get some money off these mugs.
I agree that it's just danged stupid, but it's not something I have ever thought, "there ought to be a law against it."
I must say I hate the baggy pants look. I mean I really can't stand it. I don't want to see your underwear. I don't want to see you holding your pants up with your hands because you can't keep them up. It shouldn't be against the law, but good grief! is it ugly!
Anyone who claims to be a conservative should oppose this proposal vehemenately. I think the look is stupid too, but to propose a law against it is taking an extremely LIBERAL interpretation of the role of government.
Someone needs to tell these dumb kids that let their undies show that that's code for spoken for prison bitch.
They were stripey, basically gold and green with a few other colours, and I used to wear them with a frilled shirt, sash, tan boots with spurs, elbow length gloves, diamante earrings that came down to my shoulders... I'm glad to say no photos exist.
Were they blunt English type spurs, or big ass rolley star cowboy spurs? I used to wear spurs all the time in the eighties and early nineties...but only when I was riding a horse.
Girl I know was told she could be done for indecent exposure, because her jeans were just lower than her hips by some policeman on a power trip. Then my othermate decided to flash him, because she thought he was joking. That went down well.
Is this all the lawmakers have time for? Somebody get a fuckin' rope and check the security of the lamposts. It's time these clowns stopped collecting a taxpayer funded paycheck and went to meet their gorram maker.
