I think the generally accepted view in psychology is not that girls mature faster than boys, but they are about a year ahead through puberty/teenage years
Given some of the displays around here over the last 12 hours, maybe the question should be, 'Do some people ever mature?
That was exactly my thought on seeing this thread. And no, I'm not talking about a certain 17-year-old who demonstrated abundantly that she has far more maturity than a bunch of troublemaking male (I won't call them "men" because to me that word means more than an adult male) posters put together.
Females do mature faster than males. Girls start puberty long before boys do, that's actually one reason men tend to be larger than women, we're bigger before entering puberty.
Clyde is correct, but there is still that akward phase before we get our growth spurts that a lot of girls are taller than us.
I think women tend to mature faster in terms of getting hold of their lives and deciding what to do. However, I thing men have greater control of their emotions and logic (if the way they conduct arguments is anything to go by).
As a rule of general tendencies, I agree with you here. However, as the last few hours have shown, some adult males can be very unstable and emotional, with a result that is anything but logical in the way they conduct arguments.
