You cannot be hanged in the U.S. if your physical features (like weight) makes it likely you would be decapitated. For some reason, decapitation is considered cruel and unusual punishment.

Well, let's see here. Right now, only three states allow for hanging as capital punishment. New Hampshire says that hanging can only be used if lethal injection won't work, and hasn't executed anyone since 1939. Delaware took down their gallows in '03. And Washington state got rid of the death penalty in 2018. Those were the only states which allowed hanging according to this 2014 article, so, by the looks of it, if that's how you want to die, you're going to have to go the Jeffery Epstein route. No state in the US is going to hang you, regardless of if you're a fatass or not.

agree public executions help nobody. Yes you need witnesses but only in an official capacity. And execute efficiently and safely - 12 gauge deer slug to the back of the head (the lower area of the head) and make sure everyone is wearing ear protection dammit! Okay except the soon to be executed obviously.
It doesn't get more fast and painless than that.

I'm only half-joking. People are increasingly inactive, learning the ropes sitting in front of a Playstation as kids, then sitting in front of a computer screen as adults. They don't really exercise, they don't really hurt themselves, nothing in their daily life deals with physical labor, so they don't learn to cope with it.

He is not only a staunch advocate of capital punishment, but he wants - he needs - those executed to suffer.

Oh well. Your choice. The bottom line is I've said not a word about making condemned people suffering. All I've talked about is how people suffer no matter what execution method is used and that the supposedly more humane methods of execution are intended more to reduce the stress and anxiety onlookers and executioners suffer than to actually reduce the suffering of the condemned. You've read enough of history that I'm pretty sure you know this to be true.

I have no interest in seeing the condemned suffer. I want to see certain people executed simply because I see their continued existence as a threat to our society no matter how securely they are locked up.
