I seek power El Chup. But I have no intention of using said power to impose my version of morality upon others even if the opportunity presents itself.

I think the opportunity to exercise power in the U.S. or other western nation is better reserved for strictly secular and worldly issues.

I would like to think that after a while in office I would be beloved by the vast majority of the people.

    Ah, just a dream.

    Oh really?

So gay marriage would be legal under your rule? How about private drug use?

So how exactly does this sit with your intended goal of brow beating people over the head with your opinions in order to marginalise them, rather than advancing your views in a more co-operative and morally suitable manner?

Seems to me that on the one hand you want to use what you perceive to be singular power to get every advantage you think you can obtain, but then on the other hand pretend that if you actually acquired the power you'd be some sort of morally principled individual.

Unfortunately, based on your statements and actions on many different topics, I think that the greater likelihood is that if you did ever get such power (which is hypothetical since it won't ever happen) you would indeed become a totalitarian dictator. A moral man employs that morality on the journey of life, not just once his has accomplished his goals. You have proved that your motivations are entirely selfish and have made no secret of your disdain for most of the others around you, whether it be colleagues, foreign nationals, gay people, ethnic minority people, the non-religious and so on. Indeed, the last piece of this jigsaw was confirmed by you yesterday when you admitted that the only reason you follow your religion is for the selfish reason that if you practice it you think it will get you into heaven.

I'm not in favor of either but I think there are more important things the government should concern itself with.

Having power means having less heavy handed influence at your disposal than browbeating El Chup.

You might find this hard to believe but I strike to be a professional. Part of being a professional to me means doing things you do not believe in, for people you dislike, for reasons you do not understand. True, I've had difficulty doing this consistently and I've made mistakes aplenty along the way but professionalism is my goal.
