Why isn't vote by mail more popular?

I am surprised that only Washington and Oregon and Colorado state are vote by mail only. I think more states should switch to this as a way of voting.

I am sure that could indeed be a reason. Thank you ever so much.

The ONLY WAY TO VOTE? Fuck that!

Florida offers it as an option, but I don't do it due to the fact if your signature doesn't match what's on file, your ballot becomes provisional. I like having the option of early voting, which allows me to walk in to any early voting location in my county and cast a ballot. It's also open fourteen STRAIGHT days before the election including the weekends. So I get the election day experience, but at my convienence.

Im fine with vote by mail, but give me other options.

It is so easy for fraud to occur by mail.

exactly! I don't trust the mail because the postal service is always fucking up, whether through simple mistakes or plain laziness & negligence. I love the shit out of early voting myself - I can go on a Saturday and not miss any work. Mail only is voter suppression!

Entrenched political powers don't want to change electoral dynamics by giving convenience for more people to vote. It's that simple.

Absolutely we should have early voting and/or vote by mail in every territory. Forcing people to show up during a thirteen-hour window (as in my state, PA) on a fracking Tuesday is a great way to keep people from not voting.

And why Tuesday? Why not on a weekend (Saturday and Sunday, to allow for religious traditions)?

In CA, I moved between the 2016 election and midterm, and I was re-registered to receive a mail-in ballot to my new address on the spot.

Not only that, but San Diego had many places set up to drop off early ballots six days a week for the last three weeks. I still ended up waiting till election day cuz I was lazy and my polling place is a three minute walk from where I live, and they accepted my ballot.

    Also:
All of this was set up 230+ years ago when travel to polling places could easily take a whole day by horse and Sunday travel was a huge taboo short of a medical emergency.

Nowadays, Southern business are closed on Sunday or open at noon not so much for church as it is to account for America's other unofficial religion football. :borg:

There's no reason for our stupid system. None.

Fuck mail, let me vote by text or SnapChat. That will increase voter turnout for sure.

You guys are so cute. Notorious RBG is old enough to be my mother, but you still can't let go of that "old" thing. :P

What do you think you'll be like when you're my age? Assuming you don't burst a blood vessel first.

I swear I've been here 15 years and people were pulling the old jokes back then.

Yet you have outlived at least a third of WF's founding members
