You idiots have been beating this drum for 3 1/2 years. Time to go on record. I'm thinking JerkForge votes 70% against removal.

No, he won't be. Even if he DM's the nuclear launch codes to Vladimir Putin and rapes an underage girl on live TV.

No, I don't think Trump will be "removed" from office in that manner for three reasons.

First, the secret service will never let that many people shooting at him into the White House. It would interfere with the tours.

Second, Trump would never snort a giant pile of cocaine. Adderall? Yes. Amphetamines? Definitely. KFC fried chicken skin? Absolutely.

Third, everyone knows Trump can't fire a gun because of his bone spurs and tiny hands.

    Will he be?

No, the Republicans in the Senate will put party ahead of country and integrity. (The same party that impeached Clinton for lying about having an affair with a WH intern...)

    Should he be?

Based on what information is available now: yes. Absolutely. He is significantly worse than Nixon, who was going to get the axe.

GOP Senators clearly care more about party than country. So the answer is no.

Yes if they find an actual crime, or misbehavior inconsistent with the person the country elected in 2016.

No if it's the same garbage like Russia and Ukraine and other "cia leaks" driven bullshit. More of the latter will only solidify a win in 2020.

They found several. It's really not in dispute. You can argue that what Trump has done isn't impeachable and/or doesn't rise to the vague standard of "high crimes and misdemeanors", but, to try to argue that Trump hasn't obstructed justice and hasn't abused his power, and, more generally, hasn't committed any crimes, is intellectually dishonest.

    The leader.

Seems to me the only legal recourse in the event of a criminal act is impeachment and that in turn relies on the POTUS own party being at least partially willing to play along.

Leaving specific context out of it that does seem to imply situations where the POTUS is beyond the law. Much the same is true here, but our PMs are at least far easier to remove from office.

The odds are quite low. Fox News is the gatekeeper for the right and unless they turn on Trump and allow their viewers access to the facts then Senate Rs will stick with him.

Even if Fox does open up you’ll still need some conservative Senators (Romney doesn’t count) willing to make a case for removal (not just say they are concerned) for there to be a chance at removal.

At the moment I’m not seeing either as likely.

Fox turning on Trump is unlikely?

Seems to me they've already fired some very clear warning shots and Trump has turned on them.

Getting forcibly removed is the only way Trump will ever leave office. I certainly don't see any chance of him stepping down willingly, whether in 2021 or 2025.

I can't imagine anyone at this point actually believing that Trump is not guilty of a multitude of crimes.

That he may not be prosecuted or face justice is another matter, but it would be painfully naive not to see him for what he is.

Just yesterday Pelosi reaffirmed that she does not want to officially vote for impeachment because she knows 20 Republican Senators won’t support it. That means even though Trump is obviously guilty there will be no impeachment.

Their only goal at this point is trying to rev up the base by saying impeachment a lot without actually doing any impeaching. They hope that will be enough to not see any primary challenges. But the tards lap it up because they have memories like goldfish.

There's a few different steps in the process that have tended to blur together in a lot of the discussion. As of right now, none have occurred

    1) Full House vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry.

    2) House vote to impeach, equivalent to a grand jury indictment in criminal law. At this point the President has been officially impeached.

    3) Senate trial leading to a vote for or against the President's removal from office, requiring a two-thirds majority to pass.

The Speaker has determined there is nothing in the rules that requires step one, and the House can proceed directly to step two when/if the majority is ready.
