Fucking Idiots! There's no way of telling what's in the glass for one thing. She could be drinking Kool-Aid! What a crock. I hope she cleansthem out.

They have no right invading her private life like that.

Thank the lawyers for this horseshit...only they can take you to court and get a conviction on something that never happened!

All they have to do is prove reasonable doubt....the jury system needs scrapped or overhauled...it lets in too many dumbasses.

I've gone through the selection process...I have no idea why I wasn't picked, but I have a clue it was because the defense council thought I might be prone to find the defendant guilty.

There must be more to the story, I could just as easily see this being another case of suing for something you didn't earn. We've had more than a couple of cases like this in California.

Does it have to be one or the other? :soholy:

As for the story, we shall see. She may not have received her degree for entirely different reasons and is just tacking this on there because she's seen the opportunity.

The reprimand itself is pretty retarded, though. :matt:

    Say what?

You can't get a BSc if you go to costume parties, but we'll give you a completely different degree as a second prize?

One for which drunken pirateness is not just allowed, but expected?

This is why people need to think before they put crap up on their Myspace or Facebook webpages. If you put something potentially embarrassing up, using your real name, without limiting access to your profile then it can come back to bite you in the ass one day.

Even better: Millersville is a public university, so this is the government in action.

    Pennsylvania apparently needs an enema.

But this wasn't potentially embarrassing. Some oversensitive prick with an axe to grind thought they could get away with fucking someone over.

    2+2 != 3, 2+2 != 4545211098.

At face value, there's no other explanation of the story that's remotely plausible. As a fraud, this story is completely implausible. Unless this is a drug induced fantasy, that's what happened.

There most certainly are other plausible explanations.

Well...yeah. A BS will have strict rules about requirements for graduating, whereas some BAs will be less strict. So while she might not have met the requirements for a BS in Education b/c she had enough credits, both general and upper division, that she could have recieved a BA in 'Liberal Arts' aka, I took 120 hours of college.

My God. And you wonder why liberal arts colleges in the US make me look like a sane, moderate, rational researcher.

As George Carlin said, "Now all we hear about is "What about the Children", "Save the Children". You know what I say? "Fuck the Children."

There is a differnce between a Liberal Arts college and a Liberal Arts degree. I got my BS from a Liberal Arts college, which does not offer a plain 'Liberal Arts' degree.

    Nope.

Not once you account for human nature. Just try to describe another explanation that doesn't involve someone being delusional--which can account for any anecdote--or the most incompetent fraud ever.

Was there just an honest disagreement over whether various degree/certificate requirements were met? Nah; even if there were such disagreement, that's an issue that, in the absence of petty idiocy and massive incompetence by someone on the school's end, would be worked out privately long before this reached the point of being news. Absent disagreement over whether requirements were met, was there any reason not to grant the certificate and the correct degree? Of course not.

"Petty idiot on a power trip" is so far and away the most likely explanation that it's delusional to presume some other if the story is taken at face value. Now, it's true that "petty idiot on a power trip" is the best explanation for an awful lot of scenarios that make no sense, but that's just because it's human nature to be a petty idiot and for petty idiots to abuse what power they have.
