They have had 60 years to create ebtrench firing positions for 1 million artillery pieces. No, you are not going to stealth bomb that out of action in one night.

"One plane, flying very low, just might make it through!"

Not. But a nice carpet bombing, like we did with the Republican Guard in Iraq? I imagine some of the current B-52 fleet were used on the Arclight missions in Nam. They know how to do it.

I don't think you could classify the B-52 attacks on the Republican Guard as "carpet bombing".

Even that will take time, a lot of time, as there are 1million forward deployed that we know of. At the first sign of conflict all of them will start firing. Air strikes are not a fast enough solution. Just counting the amount of time it takes to drop a load, return, refuel and rearm, then fly back for another mission... Souel will be toast before you knock out all 1 million.

That is why there are 1 million there.

Do you have a link for that? I thought the estimated number of artillery pieces in range of Seoul was around 6,000.

It's estimated at 13.000 pieces, not all of them capable of reaching Seoul. They also have around 200 mobile rocket launchers somethere in the woods. Nobody knows how many are actually in working condition. But we roughly know where they must be so they can hit Seoul. So yes, carpet bomb the shit out of that area. There's nothing there but Kaesong and military assets anyway.

I didn't say it's an easy task. Also, the buildup would probably be detected since the escort fighters would have to be transferred to bases in SK first. You'd also need some fighters to work entrenched positions like mountain sides where bombs can't reach. It's hard to estimate since there is a severe lack of information but my gut tells me: they'd have to use every last modern fighter and bomber with stealth technology. Even then there's no chance in hell they could all strike at the exact same time so warnings would definitely go out.

The massive Tomahawk barrage needed would have to come from SK, Japan and a few very big, visible ships to be effective.

On the plus side, NK has nothing to detect anything stealth tech. However, such an armada is hardly invisble to the naked eye. Bloody chaos is sure to ensue in the skies and on the ground in any case.

Anyway. No matter what military option, it's gonna be a shit show of epic proportions. Better it doesn't come to that.

In regard to the Tomahawks, couldn't the U.S. use the 4 early Ohio class submarines converted to carry 154 Tomahawks each?

616 Tomahawk cruise missiles wouldn't be enough as some would malfunction, but it would still make a nice dent.

For those of you who think North Korea can't put a nuke on a missile:

Obama administration knew about North Korea's miniaturized nukes

Tuesday's bombshell Washington Post story that the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has determined North Korea is capable of constructing miniaturized nuclear weapons that could be used as warheads for missiles – possibly ICBMs – left out a crucial fact: DIA actually concluded this in 2013. The Post also failed to mention that the Obama administration tried to downplay and discredit this report at the time.

    http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2017...ew-about-north-koreas-miniaturized-nukes.html

So North Korea has four more years to further refine and make even smaller bombs to put on an ICBM.

Civilians should only be killed if they are contributing to a countries military effort directly.

So you'll be able to present evidence that the civilian population of NK are doing that? I expect you to post something along the lines of "Well, they approve of Kim" as if they had a choice.

Present your evidence. Especially for those who are too young to vote. :bailey:

Not...necessarily... Between those four and four escorting Virginia class boats, we can put almost 800 Tomahawks in the air right off the coast with no one ever knowing we're there.

Don't Tomahawks have 1,500 mile ranges? The submarines wouldn't have to come anywhere near the coast of North Korea to reach targets anywhere in the country.

Unless you know their names, and you can slaughter them without killing their families, you're just randomly killing people. WWJD?

Reaction times. Missiles suddenly appearing at the 20 fathom curve give you a few minutes of response time. Missiles launched at max range give you up to three hours of response time.

    Basically.

That said, God I'm so glad I got stationed in Japan when I did. As bad as the Fitzgerald had it with being Team Yokosuka and picking up the slack for every other ship there,at least I knew Obama wouldn't beat his chest daring Kim to Come At Me, Bruh.

Why would you need to know their names?

Plant producing weapons and munitions. You destroy the plant and the civilians working inside.

And suppose Jesus would be happy to condone the continued existence of one of the most murderous regimes in modern history...........................

Wrong as usual. Matthew 24: 45-50.

Unless you believe in the words of the Bible you don't get to use them against someone. That is intellectual dishonesty.

And what's wrong with expecting someone else to do ones killing?

We've had this conversation before. You're a murderer by proxy, without the courage to personally act upon what you promulgate. There's no worse crime in any belief system.
