On one hand, yeah, it reeked of desperation from Microsoft.

On the other hand, Yahoo! ain't gonna get more than 44 billion in the future.

I'm not sure. Yahoo is more visited than Google - the 3 month average for yahoo is 27.3590% of web traffic visiting yahoo, while google saw 26.9921% of the web's traffic visiting them daily in the last three months.

Google is trending upwards though, while Yahoo is stagnant. A merger of Yahoo and Microsoft would make google pale in comparision, long term.

Of course google is the king of search, but msn, live, and yahoo are the king of content. I think out of the top ten individual pages visited, yahoo has 3. Fascinating.

I bet Yahoo! Games is a big part of their online activity from the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, M-F. :ramen:

    You're comparing Google.com to Yahoo.com

Well there happens to be google.ca plus a lot other side URLs.

Not to mention Gmail, Google Video, YouTube.

    Perhaps.

Or Microsoft could continue making crap like Vista and bring themselves down.

You know, when I saw this thread on the front page of WF, I thought the end of it was "...full of fail."

    Thank God it wasn't.
