    I remember getting mine yanked.

I beat Sly Cooper for the PS2 apparently while still under heavy painkillers.

Just an update (not like anyone truly cares, but I have a question to go with it), the pain is now completely gone. I have not yet had my wisdom teeth pulled and I don't plan on it for a quite a while. After I tried to use the syringe thingy with salt water to get rid of the bacteria and mostly failed, I went to the store and bought something called "Peroxyl" because it promised to help debris the gums and remove bacteria. Well, I used it for a week and bust my buttons it worked. After a week I no longer had to take any advil for pain, and the area wasn't red or tender.

That being said, I was hoping to get a good idea on what kind of mouthwash I should use. I bought some Crest Pro-Health mouthwash and Jesus Christ was THAT a bad idea. After I used it for a week my teeth started to turn brown and I could no longer taste food. Any food.

The reason I ask is because I use Walmart brand mouthwash (Vanilla Mint!), and I've been told by several medical type people that alcohol based mouthwashes can dry out your gums. I'm diabetic and would like to avoid any gum drying situations, and so I'm trying to find a solution that will remove bacteria and not cause me to lose taste or stain my teeth brown.

    Any suggestions?

    I care.

I'm glad you're not in pain. I use Crest Pro Health. I can't taste anything for a little while after it.

I don't get taste back for about a day. The brown teeth thing is more my concern though.

    I personally don't understand that.

Well, from what I've read, the brown teeth is common because of it's method of disinfecting. The downside is that anyone who doesn't brush effectively (I brush thoroughly) or breathes through their mouth (I do because of a deviated septum which makes breathing through my nose very difficult) will see these teeth stains happen. They're harmless, but still the whole effect of cleaning and whitening your teeth is pointless if they're brown from the mouthwash.

I don't know if they're getting paid for it or something, or if it's just that good, but my dentists only ever recommends colgate. (I've switched over the years, and also I had an orthadontist for braces at one point as well)

Really? Many Dentists always recommend Crest Pro-Health.

I've never heard that alcohol based mouth rinses can dry out your gums. Don't know what that is all about...

I personally just use Listerine type stuff. If you don't like the strong, harsh alcohol taste then go with the Crest Pro-Health. I use mouthwash twice a day routinely but it isn't a substitute for brushing and flossing.

Or you could look for an OTC mouth wash containing chlorhexidine. Supposed to have stronger antibacterial effects. But if you found something that works, go ahead and use it but make sure you use as directed. Don't go overboard and rinse with it every couple hours. You can actually eliminate colonies of 'helpful' bacteria that prevent colonies of harmful bacteria from forming.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed all at once when I was still in the Army. My dentist told me that if I don't get them pulled now while its free, later on when they start giving me problems, It would cost me a kings randsome to have them taken care of.

They pulled all four out in one day. I was so heavily sedated that I didnt feel a thing for about two days. Then as the pain started settling in, they gave me some very strong painkillers to deal with it. Although I was walking around with four big holes in the back of my mouth for about a month, I was really fine.

When they gave these teeth back to me in jar of water, I was amazed at how big they were. They actually had to break them with a hammer and chisel to get them out. A few of them still had skin tissue from my gums on them too!
