#1 Antifa has been carrying weapons for as long as they have been around. Even when there isn't a "Nazi" group in the area you can be sure Antifa has weapons. Just look at their videos.

#2 If the police had been allowed to do their job, like they currently are in Dallas, the two groups would have never come in contact with each other. You have a mayor who purposely told the police to stand down. There are reports of the police standing by and watching both groups fight with each other. The police would have also done their best to keep cars out of the area.

#3 The Mayor who was pissed off at the judge for over-ruling his decision to cancel the Nazi protest than granted two more permits for counter-protests that were basically right next to the Nazi group.

#4 The Nazi group, as big as assholes they are, were basically herded by the police directly into the counter-protest area when the police suddenly cancelled their right to protest even though a court said they could. That's how the two groups met.

#5 You don't need baseball bats, bricks, sticks, helmets, pepper spray, and other things to be used as weapons if all you're going to do is protest peacefully. Those things are brought because you want to fight. That applies to both sides.

The argument that the counter-protesters had to be armed because..... Nazis! is a false argument. The Nazi group could have shown up naked with absolutely nothing in their hands and the Antifa group would still have shown up with weapons and been violent.

Antifa doesn't get a pass on this just because the other side was filled with Nazi assholes.

I'm not talking about the car. I'd hit the car too if I was there after he ran people over.

No one attacked the car before he did what he did. The driver did that on his own.

I'm pointing out that in the melee last night they had weapons and the day of the car running them over they had weapons. They didn't bring those weapons for self defense. They were spoiling for a fight with the Nazi shit heads.

There were definitely people there to whom that applies, but I don't see how you can generalise that to every counter-protester or the victims here.

I don't think anyone is denying that there were a lot of Antifa thugs there. That doesn't mean that the victims were Antifa.

It also doesn't mean that literal American Nazis were any more justified in their livid anger over a Confederate monument being taken down.
