Tomorrow! New Vampire show comes on TV. Called The Vampire Diaries, it follows a cute girl who is torn between two vampires, one good and one bad. http://www.cwtv.com/shows/the-vampire-diaries Stars Nina Dorbev, a Canadian actress. She is very cute! Pictures: Judging it from the previews, it looks pretty teenybopper, but so did True Blood and Smallville, and I semi-enjoyed those. Wordforge, what is your verdict? Will you tune in?
I usually love vampire stories, movies, books, etc, but it's gotten out of hand and it's all because of Twilight.
I'll stick with True Blood. this one looks like it's for the Twilight crowd. Cute and cuddly vampires...
I am so fucking sick of this "vampire" shit. Most of the crap out these days ain't really vampires anyway. Fuck Anne Rice and Stephanie Meyer for pussifying vampires. I hope they both choke to death on a double-ended dildo.
That's a good question. Faceman, do you have what it takes to cater to 12 year old girls and gay men?
So the gf saw this last night and I caught a bit. So let me get this straight...he's over 100 years old and he decides to go to high school? Because he has nothing better to do than be subjected to the control of teachers? And he has a magic ring that lets him live during the daytime? WTF?
That sounds a lot like Buffy episodes - high school, teachers, the ring she took from Spike. But then my vampire lore is pretty limited - though I have seen versions of Dracula in a handful of movies, including a spoof and maybe an Abbott and Costello movie (though Mummy and Wolfman had higher billing IIRC). Then, five+ seasons of Buffy. Oh, and last month I saw the first Blade. Meanwhile WF threads tell me there are dozens of tv shows and movies about the hemoglobin challenged- ninjavideo actually has quite a few. Have I actually missed anything that good?
I'm giving this show until Sept. 24th until I start bitching about Smallville being bumped to Friday nights to make room for it.
If you want vamps and the like, I highly recommend Being Human. It's not made by producers who think vamps are great for teenage girls, because periods are like tampon vamps, or whatever silly shit producers who have more coke in their systems than talent like to think.
LOL! So you ended up being made to watch it? I didn't even catch it, although my female friends told me it was very similar to Smallville, even right down to a few scenes that looked copied directly from there. Nina Dorbev will probably convince me to at least check it out though.
So far, I've found myself wanting to see Tom Welling guest on the show, heat-vision the two vamps (one of whom supposedly died of a rare liver disease six seasons ago on Smallville, we know better now) & reclaim his time slot!
Just out of curiosity I watched the pilot and the show royally sucked ass. It's obviously for teenage girls with a vampire fetish.
