The Connie-Class Enterprise is only at #4?

    Fail.

But I do agree with a Space:1999 Eagle at #2.

I don't care for the #1 choice - the Connie should be #1. But a fun list none the less.

Uncle Martin's spaceship model by Brent Gair - I know Brent from HobbyTalk.com!

Yeah, the Dropship as #1!? it's barely a spaceship.

I'll read the rest eventually - that a lot to absorb.

I like all the technical info and interviews about this stuff. Like for the Flight of the Navigator SFX:

I'd always wondered how they managed that.

Well I think part of the list has to do with from a perspective of a modeler--how fun they'd be to build, what kits are out there--that's partly why I asked Forbin. I don't really agree with his listings either, but when you cover 75 spaceships, you've hit a goodly chunk of them. And the articles and such made for an interesting read. It took me about two weeks to get through everything--and then I didn't click through to any of the links or extended interviews.

Yeah that list sucks ass. What about [-]Star Destroyers[/-] (found it....) ? What about the original Klingon ship, the D-7? Or the Borg Cube?

Surak Sled Shuttle? Give me a break......

Can't speak to a modeling point of view, but 90% of the non-Trek designs there suck just as being aesthetically pleasing ships.

And some of the trek designs aren't great.

The Connie (for me, the TMP refit) should be #1, with the original #2 and the E-E somewhere in the top 20 at least.

I like ranking the Eagle highly, and Serenity of course, and the Discovery. Roger Young wasn't a bad choice. The MF isn't a beauty but i can respect the choice, most of the other Star Wars designs other than the X-Wing suck ass, IMO.

    Where's Galactica? where's the D-7?

All in all though, i probably couldn't come up with 75 i even LIKED so...meh.

Yeah, the D-7 is one of the all time classic ships. They did a great job of showing the psychology of the Klingons in their ship.

The list is definitely a modeling list, not just the aesthetics of the ship, but I can't see leaving that one off.

I wonder if they ever did a Minbari Sharlin? That's one of the most gorgeous ships ever to see the screen.

Yeah I don't remember anything from Babylon 5. The Starfury fighter should be one of those ships. Bet the guy hates the show.

Maybe there are less modern ships on there because CGI ships are harder to kitbash.

I know nothing about the subject, so I'm just guessing...

Neither version of the Galactica was on there.

Personally, I liked the original Galactica much better than Moore's version.

You misunderstand...I was warning to watch any trolling after my post because the thread was no longer in the Red Room...I wasn't accusing anyone of trolling beforehand.

I'm sorry if that wasn't really clear enough.

The list is a total :turd: Sure many should be on the list, but they seem to have gotten drink and then used a random ship image generator to make the list. :wtf:

The lister left a comment on the last page to the effect that he didn't like any of the B5 ships, especially the Shadows'.

Heh. The author is a Brit, and these comments make me think of the BBC essential literature list that makes the rounds on Facebook. My life isn't complete if I haven't read "Bridget Jones' Diary"?:wtf:

I was never impressed with the Shadow ships either but the other ships were worthy of being included in this list.
