Remember that my school was trying to stop occult items from entering school must of been protecting religious right oversensitivity types whats the harm in letting tarot cards in a public high school? I thought secualar schools werent suppose to engage in religious persecution.

THe school never tried to ban them, it was that the few who had them, and the fewer still who knew what they were, were too damn smart to bring them to school.

My school was much cooler.

When I had my Dad's stars, the teacher just put 'em in her desk until we left. Said don't bring 'em back.

That was the end of it. I also never brought anything like it to school again. No drama, no scare tactics. No one ever knifed or shot there.

Funny, how less discipline and more coddling seems to produce more violent and unbalanced people.

I was not quiet nor was I ever out sick in elementary school aside from a couple colds.

I have health issues now that started when I was 29.

And it was the standard solution I saw many times with things such as knives and on one occasion, a hunting rifle a kid had from hunting with Dad early morning and brought for show and tell. That they took to the principal's office until the end of the day after said show and tell.

No biggie.

My school in OKC had issues with that stuff, but remember this was the era where there was the whole big "Satanic cults running day cares with secret rape dungeons", and "D&D will make you kill yourself" scare that the media fueled, and fueled, and none of which even had any evidence to back it up.

Tamar's right. In OKC and Lawton, when we brought shit like throwing stars to school, worst is they got confiscated, and our parent's maybe called. Often, "banned" stuff was eventually given back.

No police. No felony charges. But these were pre-Colombine days. And the rural-ish Midwest. Not NYC inner city "hood". Different world.

In fact, I was eating lunch with my daughter at her school last week, and forgot I still had my Swiss Army knife on my belt. I freaked a bit for a sec, and just was glad I was wearing a long sweater. I could have got in big trouble. There's a "Zero Tolerance" sign out front of her school for weapons and drugs.
