Welp, it was a good run while it lasted, but I'm not going to subject myself to the same 15 second ad every time I want to watch a clip. What are the Youtube alternatives, and where are you guys going to watch your clips?
Dailymotion seems like a good one. Or not... never mind, looks like they just started slapping ads on their clips, too. The hunt resumes, then.
Okay, give Vimeo a try. There's also a little hack you can do with YouTube videos (at least, this used to work -- Skin makes no promises that it still does.) When the ad starts playing, refresh the page. It should (at least did) skip the ad and go straight to the clip.
I guess that is a benefit to keeping a Hotmail account. It makes all other sites tolerable by comparison.
Where are these ads you speak of? I just watched a bunch of videos and didn't have to sit through anything.
^ Vevo? Seriously, I'd be pretty surprised if you managed to avoid any Vevo advertising. They seem to have taken over the official channels for a lot of artists and make you sit through 15 seconds of their shitty advertising for just about every video. Fuck! Or maybe you just don't look at rap or country music videos. :flow2:
^Tried that too. It works with the ads appearing all over the page, but won't let you skip the 15 second commercial at the beginning of each clip.

ADBLOCK AND NOSCRIPT. Seriously, you're just not trying hard enough to block that shit out. I have never seen an advert on youtube, except for the little banners you can X off at the bottom of each vid.
Ablock Plus --> Preferences --> Filters --> Add Filter Subscription --> EasyList(english) You can also block adm.fwmrm.net* I've also blocked all the videos from failblog.org, you just have to block the page that reads "downloading data from..." when the video ad is loading.
