Nor I... It was always only Blue Room, where actual personal info wasn't to be taken outside. Everywhere else was simply no trolling or flaming... we didn't even have warnings (or at least not friendlys-that was one of my implementations).
123 posts so far because of.... nothing? I love WF and I will stick around. The drama is priceless. BTW: Welcome back, Megatron! You add a lot to my amusement.
So you would rather see everyone leave, than proper moderation? That's exactly how the board started in the first place.
And board rules or no, photographs you take are your property and not for others' use without your express consent. The only thing that circumvents that is if it's indicated otherwise in the board's EULA or TOS. Which it's not. That means that it makes no difference that there's nothing in the board rules against it. There would have to be something in the board rules that explicitly, in no uncertain terms, allows it. There isn't. That means that a photograph of you? Not for El Chup's use. Doesn't belong to him. That means any photograph of me in the Green Room? Doesn't belong to Faceman and isn't his to use. Although I'll license the photograph for his use. For a fee, of course, with the license renewable yearly.
Well, you'd best go to the police, 'cause it ain't against the rules here. In other words, if Face wants to use it, tough shit. Your own fault.
I haven't been around for a decade. 2008 I think I signed up and I know I've seen the picture on this board a number of times with no crying from Megatron to not use the picture. The picture that was El Chup's avatar. The picture that WAB is brandishing, I've not seen before. However, they were obviously taken at the same time. Did you grab one of the pictures from Megatron's personal camera? Don't be stupid. If you're going to allow trolling for one person, allow it for all. If you're not going to allow it for all, allow it for none.
No, I think you're thinking of how we have to add the gray room and blue room. Not green. But still only the Blue room was "protected" information.
I thought it used to be like that as well, but after reading the rules I saw Green was not a no trolling area. Only Blue has 100% protection.
The same way that IP piracy is the studios' fault? Could be some DMCA issues involved with a board where posters are appropriating and distributing copyrighted material that doesn't belong to them.
I don't think the general opinion of many posters on Tamar's moderator abilities has changed one iota from yesterday, the day before and so on. You've clearly been living under a rock.
Are you alleging you take photos of your ugly mug for commercial use? What sick fuck would give you money for those?
What sick fuck would give Paramount money to watch JJTrek? Artistic merit and commercial viability are irrelevent. My photographs belong to me until I give others permission to use them. Distributing them without permission is IP infringement.
I'd ask for your authority on this but last time you just posted an off point section of British law.
So how do copyrights really work in this situation? I always though that as long as nobody's making or loosing money, it was fair game. My shower gun pic is all over the interwebs...at least two people have made T-shirts. Personally, I don't have a problem with it, but even if I did, if nobody's making money (as far as I know), do I have a right to complain? I posted it afterall.
Yes, you have a right to complain. Especially if someone's using it for commercial purposes without your consent. As the originator of the work, copyright immediately issues to you upon the creation of the work, and any use of it by any other party requires your consent. Now there are a couple ways you can give consent -- either implicitly, such as is the case on Facebook as set out in their TOS (which doesn't apply here, since it's not in Wordforge's TOS) or explicitly through contract. Neither of which covers anyone here using a Green Room posted photo in any way. Whether it's against board rules or not is irrelevant -- it is absolutely IP infringement.
So sue me. Good luck trying to pass your ugly mug off as an artistic work being claimed as the work of others.
The rules here are quite clear, that anything posted in the Green Room is fair game. You were asked to read the rules each time you signed up one of your dual accounts. By agreeing to WF's terms you agree to the rules. That is implied consent my friend. In other words, you're fucked.
When I said, "...as long as nobody's making or loosing money..." and "...if nobody's making money..." I meant "...not using it for commercial porposes...".
Well, there ya go, then. You could, if you so choose, go git 'em, especially since the photo was taken in a non-public place. But just so you know, unless whoever took the photo signed copyright on it over to you, technically the photo belongs to the photographer.
Let's not forget, that visionrazer has made varying claims about the identity of the ugly fuck in these pictures. It's not clear that he actually knows who it is. On the other hand, Chad has claimed that he is the person who posed for these shots, and granted use to others. I prefer to believe Chad. As for Tasvir, he has said in this very thread that he posted the picture in the Green Room. By Word Forge TOS, an image posted there is usable by anybody else at Wordforge. It doesn't matter that Tasvir didn't know this. The pictures can be used, even by Tamar. Now, regarding Tamar, she's a nice person, one who I like very much and who has given a lot to this community. But she shouldn't be in charge of the board, because she has demonstrated an on-going inability to separate her trolling impulses from her administrative duties. I was bothered enough by this when she was number 2, or just a random mod even (going back several years), but at least there was always a higher authority to rein her in. I trusted Elwood or Lanzman to do the right thing when trolling got the best of her. I do not, however, trust that she can self-police.
