In any election, there are (at least) dozens of variables that decide who wins. That Dayton and his ilk continually insist that only factor really mattered tells you more about them than it does about the election.

Does it mean the term is racist? Not necessarily. But it's pretty clear the people using it have an unhealthy obsession with race issues.

Not really a term I ever considered racist. I actually thought it was pretty funny when people first started saying it, now I'm pretty meh on the whole thing.

Nuh-uh - that's goalpost moving. The point is not experience in being president, the point is experience governing, or experience in politics in general. He was perceived as the least experienced politician in the race. Even Palin had been a state governor for a couple of years, and people were deriding her for inexperience, which was MORE experience than Obama had, sitting around and voting "present" on bills.

Dayton, I explained this quite clearly in the other thread. And as I pointed out in that thread, George W. Bush explained it in the 2000 campaign. "The soft bigotry of low expectations," means that you are a racist.

Who did you vote for in 2000? The guy with a decade in the Senate and eight years as Vice President? Or did you vote for the guy with six years as governor of a state where that office is constitutionally weak? What's that you say about experience? That maybe it's not the only consideration? Yes, I'm sure that's what you really meant.

Just because George W. Bush said it doesn't make it true.

And I did not have "low expectations" of President Obama. I had NO expectations.

And he has even failed at that.

George W. Bush had been governor of the second largest state in the U.S. for six years.

And it is generally MORE DIFFICULT to govern a state with a constitutionally weak governorship because you must work harder to create alliances and work with partisans to get anything done.

George W. Bush did this very well by getting the extremely powerful Democratic Lt. Governor Bob Bullock on his side very early in his governorship.

Just how effective was George W. Bush as governor of Texas. DEMOCRATIC Lt. Governor Bob Bullock ENDORSED Bush for reelection as governor.

Despite the fact that Bullock was the godfather of the son of Bush's Democratic opponent.

    who cares?
you're still a racist, wife beating, sack of shit.

Nothing to do with the fact that there wasn't a better candidate from the other side or that the D's platform wasn't as appalling as the R's in the opinion of more voters?

We're done when most of you admit that Barack Obama would never have been nominated to be president much less elected if he was not black.

And you all know that but are not willing to admit it.

Because Obama was elected by racism. And racists fucking hate it when you call them on their racism, most especially when their racism is for non-whites.

Obama was elected over better-qualified competitors because he's dark skinned. That's the only fucking reason. Looking at his experience, his qualifications and his character alone, he would never have been elected.

He was elected because he's dark skinned. That is the only reason why he was elected. Period.

He did not have the experience. He did not have the qualifications. He did not have one single thing going for him except one: he's not white.

That's the only reason he was elected.

Now let the Statist dancing commence.

    yup
    racist.

we can't "admit" to your stupidity, that one is all yours.

Obama got in the first time because the Republicans had a candidate even they didn't believe in who was being overshadowed by his own novelty running mate.

He got in the second time because somehow they chose an even worse ticket in 2012.

The only ones stuck on him being black are you and a holocaust denier.

I really have no issue that Obama was voted in the first term partially because he's black, just like I have no issue if we would have voted in a female President. They are ideas whose time have come.

But we're not being fully honest if we also don't recognize the fact that Obama led a great first campaign. He was well spoken, and got his constituents fired up over the idea that he would bring real and positive change to the country. He ran a better campaign than the lifeless McCain who was just a reminder of all the old, rich white guys who came before. I did not vote for him, but I liked him in the beginning and really wanted him to succeed.

Here we are four years later, and he has absolutely failed in every way a President can fail. He's a political hack, he's a partisan shill, and the qualities that served him so well during the first campaign and completely eluded him in office. He's a partisan, lackluster President who hasn't done a damn thing to seriously help this country, and his policies continue to drag this country down into the shitter. He, W. and Jimmy Carter have the dubious honor of sharing the title of Worst Living President. As a black man he can now equally share that honor with other white Presidents.

At this rate, I'm looking towards Hillary becoming our next President. The Republicans have self-destructed and don't have anyone intelligent enough to do the job. And you can't argue that Hillary is not experienced with running the country.

    Bullshit.

You don't put a black teenage girl behind the wheel of a race car because "it's an idea whose time has come" -- you put that individual in that position because that individual is the best one to do that fucking job.

Unless and until THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB ARE MET, it should not fucking happen.

You don't exclude people from positions to which they are qualified because of their color or gender. You do not put people in positions to which they are NOT qualified because of their color or gender.

Promoting somebody to a position because of bullshit superficialities is NOT ONE JOT LESS IDIOTIC than excluding them for those reasons.

Obama is not qualified. He never fucking was.

As to the question of "why some consider the term "novelty president" to be "racist", it's simple:

They're chickenshit traitor fucks who insist on playing the race card to shield this incompetent, villainous fuck from any and all responsibility for the treacherous bullshit he's up to. Period. That is the only reason. They don't want his ass to be held accountable for fuck-all.

And if you buy it even then, you're a fucking idiot. But, then, we already knew that you're a fucking idiot.

I hate Obama because his every action -- his every action, his every policy decision, his every executive order, his every abuse of "executive privilege" -- makes it clear beyond reasonable doubt that he has aligned himself against the American people.
