Oh, and it looks like visionrazer passed out. Or the public library kicked him off the internet when they saw the racist filth he was posting.

What's really changed? Arguably, things are actually a little worse than under Bush since it's been ruled now that we have to purchase insurance just to have a pulse legally, and all of the Bush era bullshit is still in place.

John Stewart asked him about it point blank.

He pretty much got "look over there!", *smoke pellet*.

We've been over this before. 95% of blacks generally vote Democrat no matter what race the candidate is.

Besides, if being black was all it took to win, why was Kerry picked the nominee over Sharpton in 2004? Why didn't Herman Cain defeat Romney easily? Why aren't the majority of Senators and Congressmen black? Why hasn't Mewa been elected to anything lately? :chris:

Like it or not, you've just said basically

"Barack Obama got elected because he was black".

Obama was elected because of a perfect storm of his race, his incredible oratory, good charisma and a pile of promises that turned out to be empty or half-truths mixed with the opposition having nothing appealing to offer, being in charge when lots of unpopular decisions and policies came into being not to mention unpopular war.

Any other time someone that young and with so little track record would have had a very hard time being taken seriously as a candidate, let alone elected. Because of the political climate, his lack of experience was seen as fresh, clean and a sign he wouldn't be entrenched in politics as usual. That turned out to be a wrong assumption...which probably disappoints the left even more than the right.

His re-election is purely the incompetence of the Republicans and their lack of a viable candidate. Blame the Right for Obama's continued presence in the White House.

Do you think 93% of black voters would have voted for him had he been white? Now excuse me while I drop Michelle off at the pond....

I've read before that two of the biggest factors were his grassroots organizational skills, combined with his grasp of social media. He was able to use both of those to bring out a lot of young people who normally aren't engaged in the political process.

Whenever people claim his race was a huge factor, I remember that John Edwards made it all the way to third place in the primaries with basically the same combination of youth, oratory, charisma, vague platitudes and simply not being Hillary. And that was despite being a cheating bastard and having the stink of losing in '04 still on him. Given that Obama had almost all of the same selling points at Edwards and none of the drawbacks, along with his superior campaigning skills, I'd say his winning would have been a sure thing no matter what colour he was.

The saddest part of that is that it took John Stewart to ask him about it point blank.

Why? He tried to close it, but Congress cock-blocked him on it during his first term.

How much political capital should he spend on it?

The majority Democrat congress blocked him? Riiiight... Maybe if he hadn't been so hard pressed about that messed up health care reform that effectively taxes us for having a pulse, he might have been able to live up to some of his other campaign promises. :garamet:

Right, except for all the other stuff where I said that's not why he was elected.

I hope your teaching skills are better than your reading comprehension.

X has a point, though. Since Obama was willing to ram socialized medicine down out throats, he could have just as easily have done the same thing with Gitmo. We had all those poor souls there who were so deserving of a speedy trial back in the Bush days that were being waterboarded and stuff, but the minute Obama steps in office? Ya hear bupkiss.

He was able to get bipartisan support for one, but not the other. I'd rather he took care of both, but if you've got one goal that you believe will seriously help millions of Americans for generations to come, and one goal that'll make things slightly better for a few dozen foreigners, which one would you put your efforts into? There's a reason politics is called "the art of the possible."
There are plenty of folks here (Rick especially) that never stopped complaining.

You'd point out the flaws if Obama singlehandedly grabbed an asteroid that was about to hit New York and flung it back in time to kill Hitler.

That's the problem with conservatives. They won't give an inch, even when it becomes comically stupid not to do so.

Ah, so taxing Americans to be alive is "helping" them? You crack me up. But I guess torture and robotic death from above without any kind of judicial review is cool. :techman:

And you'd continue to make excuses for him if he made it legal for the military to disappear people off the streets and hold them without charge, ran a gun-smuggling operation to undermine the Constitutional rights of American citizens, and rained down death from above on children, so I guess we're even. Except that all the stuff I said has actually happened and the thing you said was hyperbole.

That's the problem with liberals. They refuse to see reality for what it is, even when it's comically obvious to anyone with a brain that they're supporting someone's wrongdoing simply because of the political affiliation they have. :diacanu:

You're in error, CX. You can't argue logically with these leftist idiots, because they're incapable of arguing logically. Just follow my example. , and . Just have fun with them. It's all they're good for.

Check out the executive orders he signed on his second day in office. Obana wanted it closed, he was overruled.

This Presidential dipshit and executive orders. Fuck this guy. Thinks he can rule by fiat instead of represent like he's supposed to.

This is how he know he's not black -- fucker won't represent.
