I'm beginning to think the burned guy isn't involved. I remember how after the Oklahoma City bombing police detained a Jordanian-American man but his only crime was being an Arab at the wrong place at the wrong time and he had nothing to do with the bombing. The person of interest, who still hasn't been arrested which seems to indicate there is no evidence against him yet, was injured in the blast so he might just be another Arab-American near an attack who then got grabbed by police. It has happened before.
I believe there have been several who had international backing and training who got caught. Not lone wolfs but part of a network. There have also been some lone wolves but you said "all" and that's not correct unless you're using some odd definition of "in recent years".
Police thought he had lost his legs in the bombing, then they realized he had just lost them months earlier, to the diabetes.
Apparently some idiot reporter from Info Wars got into one of the press conferences and asked in all seriousness if this was a false flag attack. http://www.theatlanticwire.com/national/2013/04/what-is-false-flag-attack-boston-bombing/64260/
Well, that's a stupid fuckin' thing to ask, isn't it? If it was, would anybody cop to it just because some schmuck at a press conference asked? "Oh, shit! Well, young man, you asked the magic question! Now we've got no choice but to 'fess up!"
April 15? Boston... It certainly could be some Tea Party lunatic. I certainly think alQueda would've been all over it claiming they did t by now. It's certainly possible.
Now there's conflicting info. U.S. Rep. Bill Keating, who sits on the Homeland Security Committee, confirmed there were unexploded devices. Gov. Patrick says that's not the case.
I never realized that one of the most heavily attended sporting events in the US was so associated with income taxes. Is this some sort of Hunger Games thing, the winner of the marathon gets a one year tax waiver or exemption?
Perhaps it was marathon, with a message solely for WF. Maybe in destroying the finish line, he wants no end to the cum gargling...
Well, that is one of the two ways conspiracy theories get started. Conflicting stories from sources who should know concretely or keep their mouths shut but can manage to do neither. The other way conspiracy theories get started, of course, is because there actually are conspiracies.
Possible, but your reasoning assumes that "domestic right-wing terrorism" is rational, to a certain extent at least. This might not be the case. I certainly can't agree with those saying "This must be the Tea-party," but I'm not yet ready to agree with those saying "This must be Islamic," either. I will agree, however, that if it is Islamic, it is the work of a small, unaffiliated group of extremists, working alone. It is not Al Qaeda's style at all. The bombs, in particular, are little more than toys compared to the spectacular stuff Al Qaeda likes. Fortunately, for those who were there...
Can we just declare the Westbro Church guilty of this and hunt them down and kill them? They are saying the bombing was a good thing and they will picket the funeral. I spelled the church name wrong. Don't feel like making it right.
Where do these nuts find the time and money to travel the country picketing funerals? Megachurches, I can see them having the money. But every tiny church like Westboro that I've ever known have had trouble getting together enough money for a cookout for the youth.
Are we sure this church isn't simply a group of grifters? Provoking controversy and attacks upon themselves so they can sue those who attack them or deny them access (like to funerals) for large sums of money?
When I heard/read about the detained guy I thought of the scene in Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. I pictured the poor guy going through this: Jordanian-American: No, no... deliver falafel. Bomb go off. Cops/FBI: You feel awful about the bomb? J-A: No, no bomb. Deliver falafel. Bomb explode. Cops/FBI: So you feel awful for delivering the bomb?
WCVB's Facebook page is full of people posting pictures of people on rooftops, convinced they've solved the case. It's the fucking Boston Marathon. People watch from wherever they can. Including rooftops.
That is stupid. It shows how completely out of touch with reality these people are. The perps were not on rooftops. They were on the grassy knoll...
Quite a few buildings in the area have rooftop gardens and/or green roofs. I suspect the rooftop grassy knoll myself. That man clearly had a cell phone in his hand.
Again, this is more a matter of: 1) how effective we've been at disrupting al Qaeda's leadership structure and financial resources and 2) the target in question. If you're trying to take out an MRAP or an Abrams tank, you need a powerful bomb, carefully emplaced. If you're attacking a crowd of unarmored civilians, shrapnel surrounding an expedient explosive, stuck in a paper bag and discreetly left on the ground will work [-]just as well[/-] [much better]. I mean, for their last really big stunt they used flight training and box cutters.
Fuck it, I bet it was left-wing anti-gun pro-tax nuts trying to make right-wing anti-tax gun-nuts look bad.
Here's my guess: It was a cowardly fuckin' dipshit. That's my guess. You can fill in the pedigree of said dipshit for yourself, but my guess is that it was a cowardly fuckin' dipshit.
