What are some of the most ignorant things you've dealt with since Orlando?

It's been a long 36 hours purging and blocking all of the ignorance and lies and stupid irrational left-wing talking points from my social media. Below are a few whoppers. Why do people think AR-15's are machine guns? I see people equating them to m16's and think the guy had belts of ammo like Rambo.

Automatic wepaons have been illegal since 1934. There are 5-10 million AR-15 rifiles out there and the leftist cunt bags keep screaming, "YOU DON'T NEED THAT! That gun is meant to KILL!"

It's really a deranged way of thinking that everytime there's a Muslim terrorist slaugtering people like in San Diego, Orlando, Beslan, Norway, Brussels and Paris we're going to blame the tools used. Oh wait, that's only in the U.S., because the weapons used in the attacks in Europe ARE ALREADY ILLEGAL THERE.

It's not a theory any more. LEftist, progressives, social justice warriors, whatever you want to call them have a mental illness.

What are some of the dumbest things you've read since the Orlando Muslim, son of an America hating Afghan immigrant murdered 49 people?

Alan Grayson claims AR-15s can fire ‘700 rounds in a minute’ after Orlando attack

I haven't seen anyone do it yet, but I'm sure Democrats will renew their calls for a ban on multi-automatic round weapons.

If whoever you plagiarised this rant from can't be bothered to deal with the actual arguments being made against proliferation of guns and the link this has to lots of people being shot with guns, then I see little point in engaging with his views, or yours.

And if only France and Belgium restricted access to guns and explosives, we wouldn't have had Paris and Brussels. :jayzus:

The problem in Orlando was that the shooter picked a target where he was confident people wouldn't be carrying guns. Worryingly, it also turns out that over a hundred people in a gay bar can't surround, tackle, and disarm a lone gunman, unlike the three or so American soldiers and sailors on a French train. I doubt they even threw drinks at him.

Well people generally say "machine gun" when they are basically saying "any gun that can fire lots of rounds in a short time".

Kind of like how any naval vessel with a gun is a "battleship" and any military vehicle with tracks is a "tank".

Truth his you don't need automatic capability to fire lots of
Soldiers are trained in unarmed combat and conditioned to use it if necessary.

I doubt a bunch of night club goers are.

Maybe not in a gay night club, but try that shit in a rap venue. Of course, a smart jihadist would wait outside until the normal shooting died down and then slip in to try and strike during a lull.

For me it is the term "homophobia." Really? A term made up to use as a club to shut someone up when you can't be to understand another person's views.

    And then there is this:

What makes you think we don't understand those views? As opposed to understanding them far too well, and simply realizing that they're bigoted and full of shit?

I think there are a lot of positives to responsible gun ownership.

"Responsible" being the most important word there though.

There is much confusion about this term. Let me help you out. One definition for phobia is extreme aversion. This is the sense in which it's used when attached to the homo prefix. Homophobia means a strong aversion or hatred of gay people. If you do not have negative feelings toward gays, you aren't a homophobe. If you do have such feelings, then fuck you. It's not the word, it's the behavior.

Like that rapper wannabe in Times Square a few years ago that fired one shot at the police while holding his gun sideways like "gangstas do in the movies".

But his holding it sideways didn't allow the casing to eject and his gun jammed.

Then the return fire by the police riddled him thoroughly.

I think the "try that in a rap club" comes from the fact that since there are constantly shootings in clubs & bars with large numbers of black patrons (at least here in Augusta) one would assume that some of them are armed & dangerous - would this be correct? And if you can actually run 700 rounds a minute through an AR-15 (or even an M-16) you are fast loading SOB. Maybe a SAW (Squad Assault Weapon) which fires the same caliber rounds, but that is indeed truly a military grade weapon. And Ar-15 are only for killing people? :chris:Tell that to all the dead hogs & deer & coyote here in the south! Also Obama saying (about gun access) "is the kind of world we want to live in?" :dayton: I can only say this: you first! I want all your Secret Service agents and other security to disarm. Throw all your guns in a big pile and bulldoze them. If the average person can't defend themselves with a firearm why are you so special? "We don't mean nobody can own a gun, just criminals & crazy people!"
is what they preach now, yet there are indeed states & municipalities where firearm ownership & use by average citizens is severely restricted - so obviously they do mean "everybody" and why couldn't it expand further? BTW I heard (someone confirm please) that the shooter was a registered Democrat - and owned a gun! I guess he strayed off the plantation! Sort of like limousine liberals with armed security guards.

So do you feel that assault rifles of the kind used in the Orlando attack are necessary in order to satisfy the second amendment? Do you feel a gun is a tool for protection? What is your position on people are tend to glorify guns, see them as hobby pieces and buy mini arsenals of hyper powerful, military grade weapons?

You see, the reason I always talk of the American cultural attitude towards guns that that to me, as an outsider, I hear the argument for needing guns for protection and for the second amendment to be satisfied. But to me surely both can be satisfied with one or two moderately powered guns (say a hand gun or maybe a shotgun) that are kept in the house and not glorified in any way more than, say, a kitchen knife. That's very much how they are seen in Europe. But when I see videos and read Americans online drooling over how many mega powerful assault rifles they have and going out to the woods with a whole arsenal of the things to destroy trees and bushes, the whole "it's just for protection" argument feels false. There's clearly more to the American view of guns than the second amendment and protection.

What about that do you consider ignorant?

Surely the threat of terrorism and the availability of high powered weapons creates a direct conflict of interest and in that respect the debate she is trying to have in her video at least has some merit?

Or is it ignorant to ask what can be done to reduce the threat of home grown terrorism?

Irrespective of her conclusions, not all of which I agree with, the talking point is most certainly not ignorant. It's a perfectly valid question.
