1-4 I’ve already said my piece and said as much after the election. When @We Are Borg vs. USS Crazy Horse started the civil war thread, the very first comment I made in that thread was that Trump was inciting violence. I was watching Trump’s speech that day and could see that he was inciting violence. While this incident was bad and I do condemn it, The failed response to COVID is much worse, IMO.
One is a side effect of the other. Not sure which is which or which is worse. Pretty hard to separate them though.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/03/us/politics/trump-raffensperger-georgia-call-transcript.html So someone could argue that he didn't threaten a criminal charge. Or that even if he did, saying it wasn't a crime. But for my money that would be like a mobster saying, "Nice business. Be a shame if something happened to it" should be interpreted as merely a friendly observation and an expression of goodwill.
so it's more of a "bringing discredit upon the office of the presidency" disgracing the profession of politicians and so forth versus the actual legal system. That said you would think that would affect a president even more than the actual civilian legal system. He can beat legal charges but no lawyer can force your fellow politicians to take you back into the fold. I wouldn't want to be in Trump's shoes right now! Factor in if they vote to impeach him but don't take full impeachment actions until after Biden's 100 days there is ZERO chance Trump won't fuck up even worse. He will dig himself in deeper and very well ring up criminal charges on top of the impeachment. He better dedicate himself to lowering his golf score and keeping a very low profile!
That guard that was retreating up the stairs was intentionally leading the mob away from the senate chamber. Somebody needs to give him a medal.
Fuck “teams”. Mitch McConnell fucked over the American people when it COVID relief, Trump fucked the American people when it came to handling COVID, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer fucked the American people over when it comes to playing partisan games, Biden being our best last hope doesn’t quite instill confidence in me for the foreseeable future, though he won’t be worse than Trump, but this country has some serious problems and a lot of people in congress seems to give a fuck. I’ll side with the American people over any political party. I’m done with teams. See my signature as to why I feel this way. Recent events should make everyone reevaluate their positions and political affiliations and stop voting for your team or voting party lines. These people don’t deserve our votes or our support. Fuck em’.
It wasn't just him. You can see him communicating with the officers upstairs as he beats his tactical retreat. Those assholes were real brave chasing one black cop. They suddenly ran out of steam when they got to the top of the staircase and were looking down the barrels of guns held by a group of pissed off cops. If they were really ready to "die for Trump" the guy in front had his chance and showed what he was really made of.
Ronald Reagan stood for the same things that Trump did. He was just more pleasant about it and made it possible to pretend you didn't hear the dog whistles. Of course in your fevered moral equivalency universe if Trump isn't any good then no one else is either.
Tulsi Gabbard is a decent congresswoman, one I would have happily voted for had she won the Democratic nomination. But congress as a whole is not for the people.
Poor guy, he just wanted to kill the government a little bit for funsies and now the government wants to ruin his life over it. It breaks your heart.
"gotta support the team!" is a reference from Seinfeld. David Puddy wore face paint to support the Jersey Devils hockey team.
"literally everyone around me picks apart every argument I make...which is weird since they are such great arguments and can't possibly be flawed"
