Rep. Jim McGovern just blasted a whole bunch of Republican Congressmen:

"Some of my Republican friends have been trying to lecture us about unity here today — unity after they voted to overturn a free and fair election in the United States of America, but also preaching unity and not acknowledging that for four years many of them gave oxygen to Donald Trump's conspiracy theories."

Ayup. This is the Dems getting death threats for saying "hey, let's not be assholes!" versus the GOP getting them for saying "we've hit peak asshole, let's not go any further!"

My response to Tim Alberta is - who's fault is it that those people feel empowered to threaten anyone who disagrees with them?

Ten of Washington’s 12 members of Congress, including one Republican, say they will support the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Wednesday, after a mob, incited by Trump, stormed the U.S. Capitol last week, leaving five people dead.

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, announced late Tuesday that she would vote to impeach Trump. She was the fifth congressional Republican to commit to voting for impeachment. She joins all nine of her Democratic colleagues in Washington in supporting impeachment.

Republican Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Spokane, and Dan Newhouse, R-Sunnyside, have remained silent on impeachment. Both representatives signed on to a legal brief in December seeking to overturn the election results in four states won by President-elect Joe Biden.

So does this mean he's not entitled to secret service protection after he leaves office, no $1 million a year travel budget, won't be able to run again for office, etc or does the Senate have to vote on that

Two-thirds majority of the Senate has to convict him as well as specifically remove his privileges post-office.

Toss-up at this point as to whether enough Repubs will grow a spine to do it.

You need the senate to convict him for that to happen. Which is one more reason why I support a senate conviction even after he's out of office.

Think I heard on the radio the Dems need like 17 GOPers to vote with them to make it happen....
