The Republican Party ought to hang their heads in shame. Traitors to the Republic, all of them. Just hearing Rep. Jason Smith and Rep. Nancy Mace makes me wanna puke.
Rep. Jim McGovern just blasted a whole bunch of Republican Congressmen: "Some of my Republican friends have been trying to lecture us about unity here today — unity after they voted to overturn a free and fair election in the United States of America, but also preaching unity and not acknowledging that for four years many of them gave oxygen to Donald Trump's conspiracy theories."
Ayup. This is the Dems getting death threats for saying "hey, let's not be assholes!" versus the GOP getting them for saying "we've hit peak asshole, let's not go any further!"
My response to Tim Alberta is - who's fault is it that those people feel empowered to threaten anyone who disagrees with them?
Washington state is doing our part: Ten of Washington’s 12 members of Congress, including one Republican, say they will support the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Wednesday, after a mob, incited by Trump, stormed the U.S. Capitol last week, leaving five people dead. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, announced late Tuesday that she would vote to impeach Trump. She was the fifth congressional Republican to commit to voting for impeachment. She joins all nine of her Democratic colleagues in Washington in supporting impeachment. Republican Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Spokane, and Dan Newhouse, R-Sunnyside, have remained silent on impeachment. Both representatives signed on to a legal brief in December seeking to overturn the election results in four states won by President-elect Joe Biden. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattl...ressmembers-silent-on-trump-impeachment-vote/
Adam Newbold - retired Seals who breached the capitol last Wednesday speaks out https://www.yahoo.com/gma/video-sho...r_KvzUEgu-3_vVym4B9VAdvOkCh_z9FQDO80atmy5S9Rc A little too little, a little too late. Yes. Yes you are. Just because you are not black or brown does not mean you are not a terrorist or a traitor!
"Waaaahh! The Democrats hurt our fee-fees, and called Trump what he was starting in 2016!! It's the same thing as trying to kill us!!". Fucking lemmings. So glad we took the house in 2018.
WA state now 11/12 for protecting America, including 2/3 Republicans. Still waiting on McMorris Rogers.
The good news is we don't have to destroy as many black and brown lives to fill up those corporate prison beds we are contracted to. We now have a huge glut of perfectly defective white trash to put in jail. Our for profit prison industry should be booming in 2021 and for the next ten years. He everyone, we don't need to arrest black people for selling joints anymore! Go US. Way to take one for the team WASP america. We knew you could do it. Don't worry, we are kind and will probably vote in some better healthcare for you. I am sure biden will be right on that. I used to have a lot of shame for my criminal activities as they were not needed and I really sucked at it. Now I can hold my head high because I did not do anything near this stupid, wrong, and for such a dumbass. I feel so much better now. Cue @Ten Lubak and @garamet saying something about me. Come on guys, tell me trump supporters and Quackanon are not that bad. You can do it.
*Continued* THE MOB TRIED TO KILL YOU!!!! You fucking fucks!!! I swear, if the mob had ripped their limbs off, their death screams would have been "but the Democraaaaaaatsss!!!".
I'm seeing more and stories online suggesting that some of the Republican reps were in on it the whole time. Almost certainly the one that live tweeted that they'd been moved during the attack.
...and Donald J. Trump now has the distinction of being the only president in American history to be impeached twice. Shame on the Republicans who put party before country. They've earned their place in history as disgraces. Too bad that coward Mitch McConnell won't recall the Senate in time to remove Trump from office. Looks like you're stuck with Trump for another week, America.
So does this mean he's not entitled to secret service protection after he leaves office, no $1 million a year travel budget, won't be able to run again for office, etc or does the Senate have to vote on that
Two-thirds majority of the Senate has to convict him as well as specifically remove his privileges post-office. Toss-up at this point as to whether enough Repubs will grow a spine to do it.
You need the senate to convict him for that to happen. Which is one more reason why I support a senate conviction even after he's out of office.
Think I heard on the radio the Dems need like 17 GOPers to vote with them to make it happen.... Unfortunately there's only like 3 spines between all the GOPers in the Senate
And that's the same nutjob that gave a tour to 4 of the insurrectionists the day before. She's going to break the record for fastest congress person to be thrown out on her ass.
