I was going to offer my views but why bother? After reading the Matthunter & Elwood comments - posts #77 and #78 - I realized I don't have to! They are apparently mind readers because they are already answering for me. Goodness what a time saver! I don't have to answer any questions, I can just let the know-it-all lefties explain it better. They are (obviously) much more knowledgeable, educated and articulate than myself. Thanks a bunch guys! I used to be bothered by having 80 percent or so of wordforge being liberal, but now I see how convenient and efficient it is for me.

 learn something? Kinda tough when you defend your narrative like it was the Ark Of The Covenant! Factor in discrediting any sources that you consider false or inferior by default and you ensure that you will never consider opposing viewpoints. It's a lost fucking cause. If I dare even ask a question or bring up any defect in the liberal narrative all I hear is "but...but...but...so and so white conservative did this and that....how can you defend that?" :drama: EVERYTHING will seem outrageous when you are so thin skinned you refuse to consider the fact that your shit does indeed stink, and that you don't have the only path to solving the world's problems. You want the right to come around to your way of thinking on any particular subject, but god forbid they might have a point and you might need to come around to their way of thinking. So if you want to disregard, shut down & marginalize just about 50 percent of America knock yourselves out. I'm entertained by listening to the hypocritical, delusional, cherry-picking and quite often outrageous lefty thought processes on wordforge. That said if the entire nation was 80+ percent lib that would not be in our best interests, but on a forum board it's no harm done IMHO.

That's a pretty convenient dodge for allowing you to not actually back up your assertions, isn't it?

It isn't a dodge at answering questions, but it is a dodge at the hamster wheel. The second I try to back anything up everyone will start flinging insults and discredit my sources or my very ideas. So what's the point? Once the filters are up and the wagons are circled it's a "done deal" and an exercise in futility. Now that may be your idea of fun but it isn't mine.

Not sure if you missed my post when I first shared that chart of reliable news sources, but in that post I explained that I was conflicted. I was unsure how to determine if my news sources were correct or if "your side" is correct. So, I googled how to find reliable news sources.

If you are so sure of your news sources, please explain to me why and what makes you so sure that it is correct.

Yeah, really. You know, I bet he would like a nice little vacation at a camp. A special camp. A camp that is definitely not a re-education center. Just a nice little camp, with armed guards and forced labor--damn, I mean fun activities and friendly counselors.

I've said before in another thread, one of the reasons I came back and, I think we all eventually come back. We know each other. and even if we disagree vehemently, there is still some comfort being around those we know.

Also, please don't make this place a left wing echo chamber. We don't want to behave like Volpone, Sokar, et al.

Not a first time Georgia elected a firecracker to congress .. you guys remember newt Gingrich? I was a young kid then so I don’t remember much. But from what I read, newt was considered as a kooky radical early on and the mainstream GOP shunned him initially before adopting his schtick. Of course I’m not comparing newt to MTG. She’s on a completely different planet of craziness..

Hey, remember that time OF called Kamala Harris "Kameltoe?" Or the hundreds of times he's insinuated Biden is going to take away the free speech of conservatives?

Yeah, let's not mock him. Because he obviously values honest, intelligent discourse.

So you're saying that many Democrats (if not Biden himself publicly at least) aren't trying to limit conservative free speech? Of course they will call everything they don't want to hear "dangerous rhetoric" so they can sell it to the moderates - gotta keep them afraid of course.

What exactly are you talking about?
Calling for the murder of congresspeople, and the abuse of citizens through racism and racist proposals is dangerous rhetoric and not free speech. That is not some disagreement of interest rates, or how best to help pump up the economy. You are equating sedition, terrorism, and the actual murder of people to some sort of different opinion. Also, the promotion of racism is dangerous rhetoric which effects sections of the population. You seem to revel in their harm, but that is causing people to be harmed.

Let us also remember that nowhere in free speech is the freedom from problems that come from your speech. No one is stopping republicans from saying stupid things, and not electing them is not violating their rights to say stupid things. You do not have to vote for racists if you disagree with their racism even though that might mean you and your friends feel bad. You have no right to hold government positions if the people do not elect you, even if you feel killing congress is a solution. Your friends are being arrested for a reason. Getting arrested and convicted for harassment, threats you act on, and actual violence in support for your opinions is proper and not some violation of your rights. Your free speech rights do not give you the right to act on your speech in violation of the law.

I think he already said he had no facts aside from made up fake news from bullshit sources. I guess if we do not believe thew lies from the right instead of our own eyes we will never see his proof. Evidently we are being the obtuse ones by not accepting lies as truth.

That is where the argument always seems to go with OF providing proof.

Please provide examples of the non-dangerous rhetoric that is being limited. Not rhetoric for which there’s been consequences, rhetoric that’s been limited. Or attempted to be limited, that’s fine too.

This cuts right to the heart of the debate. Sure, extreme-right rhetoric has been limited. You can't have people plotting assassinations of elected government officials, or making plans to overthrow the government, or encouraging others to do so, on social media. That isn't protected speech.

But just because it is those promoting conspiracy theories that are trying to undermine constitutional processes who are being shut up, and just because they all happen to be on the far right, doesn't mean the governement (or anyone else) is censoring conservatives. In fact, if you have to defend and admit to that kind of rhetoric in order to make your point, you probably ought to be asking yourself if you're on the right side, politically.

Which is why your question is the question: what examples of non-dangerous rhetoric that are being silenced?

What are some ways in which the Democrats in the government are trying to use the government to limit free speech?

We are not talking things like Facebook or Twitter etc. putting disclaimers on or suspending/banning accounts. We don't have a right to speak freely in someone's electronic house any more than we have a right to show up to your meatspace house and say whatever, whenever, however we want to say it.
