A friend of mine retired from there a few years ago and he was an amazing editor. Three-time (consecutive) NPPA Editor of the Year who turned pieces for both Nightly News and Dateline.

Reminded me of that scene in The Newsroom where Eliot is sitting in his hotel room in Cairo "reporting" on the events in Tahrir Square. (Yeah, I've been binge-watching The Newsroom again. Like TWW, it seems so naive and hopeful in terms of the events of the past year.)

The first season is okay, but I can't deal with the other two seasons again. You do realize the reason this person lost income was not because there were no planes with banners by the beach, but rather because of where he was based out of? The airport closings included a small lantana airport near west palm and mar-a-lago. This was actually a launching point for the smaller planes who do not take off from west palm beach. It is a lot cheaper and WPB is more of an international airport built for much larger planes. There were planes doing this on the beaches in del ray, boynton beach, and others around mar-a-lago. I know, I can see them with my fucking eyes and do not have to check with a dayton like wordsmith from the internet. I live here fucko.

Let me also say one of the reasons people do not actually want donnie and his family around here is not because they turned on him, but more the interruption in their lives that come from having an ex-president and their security in the area. I worked in westchester when hillary was moving there, and they did not want her there either. It was a traffic nightmare when she was house shopping so she could be a resident and run for the senate. Do you know what the area outside of mar-a-lago looks like? It is a fucking traffic nightmare that will now have to deal constantly with donnie little hands and his motorcade. I am pretty sure the people all over A1A are not thrilled with donnie mucking up their gentrified hot spots on the beaches. The rich people do not want to have to be delayed because of donnie's schedule.

It is a simple hop over thew waterway down southern to get to the trump resort. Where do you get your news from, because mine is from the local newspaper. I can read the opinion pages full of people from both sides who actually live in the area. I live in the million dollar communities where these rich assholes live, and can actually get through their gates and talk to them because of the passes on my car. I would think you could get some of the executive republicans to jump on kicking her out if they started to grow a spine against trumpism and Q, but that would require splitting the party and that would be the end for the republicans.

Hopkins is a professional media troll who will say anything shockingly right-wing in order to grab headlines/attention. It eventually caught up with her in the UK where she got her arse sued off by food writer, journo and activist Jack Monroe (Hopkins libelled Monroe, saying she had defaced a war memorial). She ended up having to sell her house to afford the ongoing legal costs (Monroe had been willing to let her off with a £5000 donation to a migrant rescue charity but she refused - Hopkins has notoriously suggested migrant boats from Europe should be allowed to sink with all hands or even be blown out of the water by the Royal Navy).

Seriously, MTG is ultimately - like Trump - not the cancer itself but just a symptom. The real problem for the future of this country is that a significant portion, probably the majority, of the Reliable Republican voter base looks at (hard right) Liz Cheney and says "RINO!" and looks at undiluted insanity in MJT or someone similar and says "We need more like this one!"

Get rid of MJT, or Boebert, or Cawthorn - or indeed all of them and the 20 odd other members of the GOP House caucus who are either dumb as a brick or crazy as fuck (not mutually exclusive descriptions) and it matters not at all because they people who enthusiastically vote for them are still dumb as a brick or batshit crazy or both.

The fact that almost all of the comparatively less insane Republicans are completely captive to this voter base renders the party itself a full blown threat to the future of the country as a free nation.
