Little story about another 2 year old who found and randomly shot and killed their parent.

One thing I know is that a random kill shot is a statistical small number of random shootings that happen. This means that for every one of these cases there are a lot more bullets flying from toddlers. In the past few years there have been a couple of toddlers killing people, and that means there has to be a ton of injuries from toddler shootings. There has to be a ton of toddler shooting that do not hit anything. There has to be even more times where a toddler plays with a gun and it does not go off at all.

It is an obvious lie that there is any gun safety in the gun community. The one or two people who actually handle their guns safely are a tiny minority that we cannot rely upon.

Hard as it may be to believe, not everyone inhabits the same black-and-white bizarro world that you do.

OK, here's my best stab at this question.

I think there are quite a few topics where you actually do know better, and can apply facts and logic to the situation ... but then tribal allegiances take over.

For example, if I recall correctly, you've gotten the COVID-19 vaccine. Which is the sensible, fact-based, and rational thing to do. But then you share exactly the same dishonest, illogical, frothing-at-the-mouth loony memes that the anti-vaxxer idiots are posting all over Facebook.

It's like you know things, but then the people you have a tribal allegiance to say "no, you're supposed to feel that way," and loyalty to the tribe elbows facts and reason out of the way.

Of course I got vaccinated, I’m not an anti-vaxer, but I think it’s fair to point out inconsistent statements from Fauci on whether or not masks are needed or if they effective or not. I can’t find it right now, but there’s a super cut of him saying that masks aren’t needed indoors then saying that they are then saying they’re not. Then he says that cloth masks are effective, then says they’re not. I hate to bring up Joe Rogan and others, but he said early on that cloth masks weren’t that effective, then later on the CDC says the same thing. Rogan didn’t get kicked off of social media for that, as far as I know, but other people did, just for questioning the CDC. Of course we know about the famous interview he had with that guy who was involved with the MRNA research back in the day that started the whole outrage over Spotify. There’s also the fight Rand Paul had with Fauci over the Wuhan facility and the funding. Fauci denied that we were funding that research, I question that. That question still lingers. Democrats dismissed all of it because at the Trump was president. Then it comes out later that looks pretty bad that we probably were funding that research. It’s like because Trump said it, it must be a lie. I haven’t made up my mind; however, when we first started hearing about Covid, before we really knew anything about it, I speculated that this was something the Chinese would totally do. Why? Because I know a little about germ warfare, especially when it comes to communist countries. I also am familiar with CIA operations and I wouldn’t put it past them either. Now you may call that conspiracy theory nutterry on par with 9/11 truthers, but we know about Operation Northwoods, Bay of Pigs, Operation Mongoose, CIA acid tests, Manchurian Candidates, Laurel Canyon which involved prominent military people’s offspring including most notoriously Jim Morrison and Charles Manson. Let’s also not forget about the bullshit we were fed about Iraq and if you really wanna go into conspiracy zone, the dancing Israelis. Trump even mentioned them I think a few days after 9/11 . Also there’s yellow journalism from the turn of the century and gulf of Tomkin as well as a bunch of other things I’m sure I’m forgetting, so forgive me if I didn’t buy the government’s official narrative. Never mind the Cuomo brothers’ bullshit.

That's the nature of science. In the "scientific method" you have an hypothesis. You then set out to prove this hypothesis. When you've proven it enough times it becomes a theory. The theory is the accepted dogma until new information changes the hypothesis. Science constantly changes because it's authentic and also based on the human model. Everything is not fixed nor etched in stone once in practice. Blaming Fauci for being a scientist is like blaming water for being wet.

Put simply, JR wanted them to act like a diaphragm when the CDC said they functioned like a condom-catching what comes out, not what's going in.
