Y'know... The Halle Berry Catwoman gets a lot of grief. And deservedly so. But it's not really a Catwoman movie, despite the name. The character Berry plays is not Selena Kyle and has no connection whatever to the Batman world. Different origin, different character, different setting, different premise. And I think a large part of the scorn it gets is for not being an adaption of the classic comics character. If you watch it as its own kind of thing, it's...sorta passable. It's about average for a superhero movie pre-Singer/pre-Raimi-Man/pre-Nolan.
Injustice red band trailer. Yeah, they're going R with the violence. The animateds have done the Apocalypse War, and now Injustice, they've pretty much completed the Snyderverse, really.
"Catwoman: Hunted" trailer. Hmmm..the drawing style reminds me of "One Piece" and the humor/action style reminds me of Lupin.
First 2 episodes of Young Justice S4 dropped today and... Legionnaires!! (just three so far but still, cool) As for the main plotline.... Apparently I missed a couple of good sized novels-worth of revisions to Martian history and current events. First Jon was the last Martian, then the last Green Martian, per the premiere of Justice League plus lots of comics Then their was a niece, Me'Gan, which, cool, I like it....then she's a white martian which.... oooookay but...nevermind But the basic outline was the White Martians were the bad guys who wiped out almost all the Green Martians. Now there's billions(?) of Martians, Green, White, RED even (royalty) and yellow (priests) and there's a lot of bigotry which, sure, but... How? When? I'm like the show as always but I just have to put a pin in the whole Martian society stuff because SO many questions
Just finished this. DC Fandome got me interested in catching up with stuff I missed over the years. Grace Randolph is an idiot. Take out some of the language and the "sex scene" which wasn't a sex scene and we've seen similar shit in BTAS anyway and this could easily have been a two-parter in the animated series. In this instance @Diacanu, you win, the Youtube harpies were wrong.
The writer of Space Jam 2 and the directors who inspired the Proud Boys are teaming up to make a Metal Men movie.
Metal Men were the T-1000 before the T-1000. They've all got the liquid shapeshifting, plus an extra power based on the individual different metal they made of. Like conductivity for gold, poison filtration of platinum, etc.
The origin of Chemo is fucking insane. A self-loathing mad scientist built a giant man-shaped jar to pour his failed experiments into as a literal monument to his failure, and all those experiments mixed just right to make a one in undecillion freak occurrence, and brought the jar to life, and now Chemo can control the formula inside himself, and spit customized chemical sprays at his enemies that are always their weakness.
LEGION OF SUPERHEROES TV SHOW! BUH BYE JLA! NEWS! LETTERS! JOY! (substack.com) Brian Michael Bendis to helm Legion of Superheroes project greenlit by HBOMax
on one hand GIGGITY GIGGITY!!! On the other hand... in much the same way that Trek pages tend to be overrun with people who absolutely loath Discovery and I don't get the passionate hatred for a show I generally enjoy, the Legion group I'm in has not a few passionate voices that despise Bendis in general and his Legion run in particular so... I'm uncertain whether I should be apprehensive. I need more research because I haven't been able to read more than a passing glance at the Bendis Legion (some of Ryan Sook's character designs I find mildly off-putting but tell good stories and I'll get used to it) Still, on the whole, if they let him do an adult audience Legion it will HAVE to be better than the kiddy show from 15 years or so back.
By the way, Legion movie coming next month that's entirely separate from the Bendis project. Looks pretty fascinating, doesn't seem to follow any comic continuity (the groping of some OG members among the "trainees" while newer members seem to be vets is a giveaway, plus mixed costuming) but if it's a good story and popular, i can roll with it. However, my reservation is that I don't like the (apparent) characterization of Brainy. Legion Of Super-Heroes Clip - Superman knows a Way Out (2023) | Superhero Society - YouTube
Creature Commandos cast. Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein, Indira Varma as The Bride, Sean Gunn as both G.I. Robot and Weasel, and Maria Bakalova as the new character Princess Ilana Rostovic. So...they're not going with the classic lineup of Vampire, Werewolf, Frankenstein, Gorgon. Only Frankenstein is there. https://www.darkhorizons.com/dcs-creature-commandos-series-cast/
So I watched "Legion of Superheroes" today and I thought it was pretty good. I've seen some of the basic story elements in "Smallville" and other places, but I still thought it was good.
"Crisis On Infinite Earths" animated movie, and "Watchmen" animated movie. https://www.darkhorizons.com/new-watchmen-animated-film-coming/ For the former, I'm hoping they tie together every single cartoon from Fleisher Superman to Harley Quinn. For the latter, they don't specify if it's a straight Watchmen adaptation, or Doomsday Clock, or what. I want Doomsday Clock.
Batwheels to Feature the Voice of Late Batman Actor Adam West No word on how this is going to be accomplished.
Plenty of tape of him from Batman '66, the animated Batman revival movies, and Family Guy. If there was enough "Siskel & Ebert" to make Ebert a voice box that sounded like him, they can piece Adam together.
Right, but how? Is it recycled clips from various TV shows and movies? Or is it AI generated? And what does the estate think about this?
