Wow, that isn't what that article says at all. I was all ready to get worked up about jackbooted CPS officials taking kids from their homes, but...no.

Yeah, not even a little. It makes no mention of the state taking kids away from parents. Just that if one parent won't acknowledge the child's preferred gender a judge can take that into consideration when deciding custody. Like, you know, in divorce cases, where many factors determine who gets custody of the children.

In other words: If the child has one asshole parent and one non-asshole parent, a judge is allowed and encouraged -- but not required -- to favor the non-asshole parent.

I would think that @Steal Your Face would love a law that forces his parents to recognize his gender identity of a man or else lose custody of him. I must suck growing up when your parents think you are more of a little twat than a boy. When his mom calls him that thing that fell out of her cooch, and his dad calls him the wet spot that wouldn't die, he could force them to call him a boy and end all of the abuse.
