They picked an unnecessary fight with the rest of the rational sane world and now that the dust is starting to settle they’re starting to see that it was a losing strategy.
Zazie Beetz is in talks to return in Joker 2. Everyone who thought Arthur killed Sophie can exhale now! https://www.darkhorizons.com/zazie-beetz-in-talks-for-joker-return/
really wanted her to become Harley. Gaga's entire existence is derivative of others, and she's possibly the only person I'd less rather see in the role than Robie and her Hot Topic Harley.
suicide squad was garbage made mostly of characters nobody cares about. Jared Leto did to the Joker what Voyager did to the Borg. BoP was a shitty spin off lead by a miscast character (Robie) surrounded by a bunch of names that were little to nothing like the characters they were supposed to be. WW84 sucked because even for a super hero film you had to turn off your brain. More than a few ethical concerns too (like the possession of that yuppie or Gadot's Zionism). The only sexism complaint there was over a male victim, so... I'm not sure anyone really gives a shit about Bats or Supes anymore either? The Flash is at a standstill because Ezra Miller is apparently creepy AF, Cyborg is way better on Doom Patrol... When you get past the seizure inducing CGI, the only reason to watch Justice League was Momoa's wise cracking and chest popping.
I was gonna say, Gaga has been openly auditioning to play a Batman villain for most of her career. (I don't need to link to any of her goofy outfits, you all know what I'm talking about.)
that's why I always found her derivative.. the goofy outfits. I think the first image I saw of her was wearing a metal cone bra stolen from Madonna who'd gotten it at Nina Hagen's garage sale. Also, the meat dress not only looked better on Bjork, it was more controversial in the National Art Gallery...
If there is one thing that Marvel has taught us, people will pay good money to see good movies about random characters. If you had said 20 years ago that a movie about a talking racoon and a sentient tree or a R-rated movie about a wisecracking assassin would do better box office than the first live-action big screen pairing of Superman and Batman fought, no one would have believed you.
Blade wasn’t that well known, but people love vampires and Wesley Snipes was pretty popular. Jude he Dredd was pretty obscure. Spawn, well the less we talk about that the better.
Okay, buncha tidbits- -Joker 2 is all that's officially greenlit. -The budget for Joker 2 is more than double Joker 1 because of the complicated musical scenes, and the pay raises for Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Philips. -The Batman 2 is a shoo-in, but years away. -They're going to still have Batgirl around as a guest character like Black Widow. -Wonder Woman 3, Zatanna and the JJ Abrams Superman are in limbo. -They're still looking for a Kevin Feige. They thought of Greg Berlanti, but he doesn't want it. https://www.darkhorizons.com/batgirl-fallout-joker-2-budget-dc-talk/
I'm sorry... that's a pretty shitty thing to do to a creator. You spend years of your life making something and then some fancy asshole decides to lock it away forever.

I was until I realized Bad Robot is behind the project and Akiva Goldsman is the writer. Now I hope it doesn’t happen.
Akiva Goldsman redeemed himself with "Doom Patrol". People who still hold a petty grudge for Schumacher Batman 25 years later can go blow Thor's screaming goats.
Doesn't matter. "Doom Patrol" antidotes everything he ever did, and ever will do. Forever. You're completely powerless.
