This is just one more reason for me to avoid all forms of mass transit.

Well, hell, I'll probably have to get more PPDs this year if this keeps up.

God damn mother fucking shit!! :ehrie: My friend. :bang: My friend is from Atlanta. Her husband took her to Paris for their 20th wedding anniversary. I'm sure that was their flight number. I remember because their anniversary is the 12th, the same as my birthday. Her husband called to tell me he was going to surprise her. :( Son of a bitch. I'll have to call her to make sure she's heard. I'm sure she has, but dammit!! I hope she wasn't sitting near him. :( She's finally able to afford a vacation and this happens. Why was this fucktard on an international flight if he was sick? He had to have known.

Well, I say we do nothing serious about all the illegal immigrants from the Third World, and that we increase legal immigration from all of these strange countries with strange, treatment-resistant diseases.

That way we know we'll have a healthy country and a bright future!

    okay, first, no panicking.
Second, all they need to do is get PPDs about three months apart. First says that yeah, they never had TB, never were exposed to TB. The second will say if they were exposed or not.
And finally, just because they shared a flight does not automatically put them in the "you have been doomed" category.

I hope you're right. Then again, they could have been sitting in the same row with this clown for all I know. I hope not. Chances are they weren't, but I'd rather know for sure. I'm sure they would, too.

I have taken care of several folks who were not on isolation (so I wasn't wearing a mask) and then came back with a positive TB smear. I am still PPD negative.

    Not sure.
But, TB, very nasty, is also very hard to get if you are very healthy.
It's very oportunistic, and a healthy person isn't oportunistic.

That's good to know. :) They're both in fairly good health. Neither are smokers or asthmatic. Sheesh. I want to know how this clown ended up flying (you may as well sit in a petri dish with someone when you're sick) twice and travelling all over Europe with this. If they nabbed him and enforced isolation when he came back, that means that he had to have been tested before he left the country. He had a clue, as did his health professionals. I imagine that there are quite a few people who are extremely unhappy with him about now.

So, being well educated, successful + intelligent automatically makes you exempt from using common sense, and displaying common decency?
Fuck this clown.....I hope he gets his ass sued and ends up in the shittiest quarantined section of a prison hospital.

Jesus, what a total, selfish fuckwit, I hope if the French, Greek, Italian or Czech authorities find anyone infected with this strain, they send the bill for treatment to this 'successful, intelligent' person. :garamet:

This is but one of the problems I have with illegal immigration: no medical screening, so God only knows what they're bringing in with them.

Yea! My friend and her husband flew to Paris out of Atlanta on Air France that day, but they took a later flight. :thecadre: :thecadre: Happy days. They weren't even close to that selfish son of a bitch. Isn't he the most selfish piece of work? I was afraid I might die, so I snuck back in to the country, but fuck everyone else.

Thanks, ladies and gents. :) Nothing makes you appreciate your friend like thinking she might have been exposed to highly drug resistant tuberculosis thanks to some intelligent, well educated narcissisitic fuckwit.

Well, well, well, our TB carrier's identity has been outed. The asshole's name is Andrew Speaker of Atlanta. 31 years old. Get this....he's a lawyer. Who'd have thought a lawyer could be such a selfish asshole? His new father-in-law is a microbiologist at the CDC!!!! :bang: They had some college kids on who'd been on the plane with him who've already been tested. They weren't very impressed by his remarks about "I'm intelligent, well educated, and this is ridiculous." They should get their first test results back at the beginning of next week.

EDIT--his father-in-law's specialty at the CDC is.....get this....the spread of tuberculosis. I'm not fucking with you. Oh, this guy had no clue what he was doing. None at all. Who'd have thought a personal injury lawyer could be so self centered? :wtf: Boggles the mind.

See, this is why I think removing corporal punishment in all cases is wrong.

Why shouldn't this guy be strung up and given 40 lashes?

I love how his father-in-law gave him up. It was definitely him. He was later asked point blank if he'd given his son-in-law's name to the press to which he replied, "no comment." It he hadn't, he'd have said so. He was concerned about people blaming the CDC or him.

Fucker should be imprisoned for knowingly spreading the disease. If anyone catches it and dies, the term should be for the rest of his life.

How about the punishment being to have to defend himself against better personal injury lawyer countless times, and losing each and every time.

If this surgery to remove the diseased part of his lung doesn't work, he might not make it to next Thanksgiving. They're counting on it working even though he's not sick right now.

Apparently he was whining on Good Morning America this morning. I missed that because I was at work. He is "truly sorry for what he did." I'll bet. Also, he has a tape recording of the CDC officials when they advised him not to fly and that people will see that they didn't tell him in no uncertain terms not to fly.

He has a tape recording. Think about that for a minute. He has a tape recording. Why would he tape record a conversation if he didn't think that there would be potential problems? Perhaps.....legal problems? This fucker is a piece of work from hell. Someone needs to kick his bloody ass. I love it. I heard again on the late news last night, "Mr. Cooksey, the patient's father-in-law, wouldn't comment about whether he'd turned his son-in-law's name into health authorities."

Uh huh. We all know what that means. Son-in-law's name is shit.
