Well, I was going to say that I liked your list, and respect a lot of those folks myself. (Disagree with Chomsky pretty strongly re: speechcodes[/o] But if you wanna fight about it...
No problem. Just being honest. No why don't you give something back an transfer some nire $$$ into my paypal account!
Until I meet them and confirm otherwise, I assume everyone on the Internet is a chubby white male. I find it just makes things safer. Know what I mean, bro?
Odd as in i just peed my pants and it's quite warm and nice or i shagged a girl and found out it's my long lost sister?
Didn't we have a thread just a week or two ago about some woman coming in second place in a one woman contest? Hmmm? I wouldn't be so sure if I were you.
And one that he never plays in tune, at that! They are particularly hard instruments to play and keep in tune (and even more so with the one he plays) but goddamn! *Steps off band nerd soap box*
*Band nerd time* [?=Family Portrat!!!][/?] The one Kenny G usually plays in on the far right hand side. Hardly the same as an alto. Bass Saxes also exist (though rare to see outside a Saxophone choir) *The more you know...*
I've seen those. Some folks tell it it's a bit difficult to play on those, though. Then again, the tenor sax was the one out of many instruments I've played that I sucked at big time. And yet , I played Bass Clarinet in the top band group for two years straight.
I would guess so. I remember seeing Pete Fountain playing one on The Tonight Show in the late 70s/early 80s. I switched from clarinet to alto sax when I was a sophomore and did great with the new axe (state contests, medals, etc). I just bought my youngest daughter (6th grad) a $1600 Yamaha alto.
It's funny, by the time I hit 12th grade, I remember our school having a jazz band where the girls actually outnumbered the boys. Normally, it's a sausage fest, because it's made up of mostly brass instruments (and it's usually boys that play them), but the whole six-member trumpet section was girls (including three from dance/drill team, no less, ) Plus, one trombone player and six of the eight saxophonists were girls too.
