I am. Comhaltas Glas/Green Party. Are you, and what does your membership entail? People around here are always bitching about politics, and few seem to do anything about it.
What I'm doing about it is not identifying with a political party. Party posturing and antics are the #1 thing to bitch about
I would if there was one worth joining. The problem with politics is that those who get involved in it are invariably complete whoppers
The problem of not identifying with a party is that, in a lot of states, you won't be able to vote in the primary, so you won't be able to help weed out some bad people or help out the better candidate. So, register as one, you can always vote which ever way you want to on Election day. But, by note voting at all, you get what the people who do vote give you. Vote so you have something legitimate to bitch about!
I felt the need to register as a republican to fight the anit-gun bullshit. I'm not especially happy about it, though.
Republican, but only because of the primary voting issue. In reality, all the parties are equally worthless.
But UA, you won't have any right to complain if you don't! Put that in your pipe and smoke it at your non-smoking/non-direct depost bank!
I am registered to vote as a Libertarian but I am not "in" any party. Last election I voted for 50% (-ish) Republican, 35% (-ish) Democrat and 15% (-ish) Libertarian. That spread was skewed by the relative lack of Libs running for office.
Republican. Not that I agree with many things related to their platform... I just like to piss my liberal friends off.
I'm too much of a cynic now... I vote, but I always feel like I'm choosing between a diseased rat and a venomous snake... The only thing i accomplish is mitigating damage... choosing the lesser of two evils... Thankfully my state does not require me to register with a party to vote in the primarys.
I'm registered as a Democrat. Someone has to---this town is about 75% Republican. My voting ratio in the last election was about 50% Democrat, 40% third party (Libertarian, etc.), and 10% Republican.
I'm independant. Even with the primaries, nine times out of ten, there isn't anyone I particularly like anyway. In any case, at the very least, I'm a young voter, keepin' the vote alive for a new generation or something like that.
I may have to register as a Republican before the CA primary, as I'll be voting absentee, and while any one primary is open to each independent voter, I don't think you can get those ballots absentee. Soon as that's over, back to registered "non-partisan" as they call it here.
I'm registered as a Democra but I vote according to character and issue. For an example of the kind of things that will discourage me heavily from voting for someone is hypocrisy, and the ke kind of hypocrisy I'm talking about is from this example: The politician who is very vocal about not supporting homosexual issues such as gay marriage and is highly critical of homosexuals but is a homosexual themselves. That kind of thing happens I won't vote for that candidate. It tells me I can't rely on him/her as a candidate. because of a severe lack of character. I hate having to vote for people I can't trust or respect. However, issues are just as important as character as well.
I am a registered democrat... I could be persuaded to vote GOP if, you know... they didn't actively want to step on my civil liberties...
I'm currently registered as a republican, but when I reregister I may switch over to Independent status. If I'm allowed to do that in Mississippi anyway. Our voting laws are dictated by the feds. But I'm actually a Wordforge Independent, meaning that since I've voted for the opposite party that I'm registered to for a couple of times in the last twenty years, I'm an Independent.
Neither, you don't register a party in Hawaii I still say 90% of internet "independents" are funny. They claim to be independents to add weight to their opinions...when it's obvious they are somewhere left of Hugo Chavez
