I hear that this game is supposed to be the most popular game of the year. I don't think its avaliable on anything but XBOX, but for what its worth, is this game so good that its worth buying an XBOX console just to play it?
Loved the first one, hated the second. From the looks of it the third will be a keeper. Was going to make a halo thread but would have been called a fanboy or some otherthing.
preordered. Picking it up tomorrow! Anyone up for some online? I might actually beat the campaign on this one Halo 2 was all multi-player, bitches! (Greatest game ever multiplayer. Great interface, tons of players, tons of game options, switching it up every so often, overall pwnage) anyone up for a game tomorrow (Providing I actually get it?) I also hear that the cases kinda suck and that you should check to make sure your disc ain't scratched
Might as well show the videos from the Halo 3 Believe Ad Campaign that microsoft has blown $10+ million so far, i think they have been really well done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlFtds1M9-I (1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdYt0lQ_YXQ (2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjLuqfb-1-4 (3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLoJp3Jz7UI (4)
The limited vers seens to have a fucked up case. Just getting the standard once it comes out here on the 26th (could have got it from peeps at my local game store just to sick to run in to town for it)
I'm so excited. I am a total Halo Fanboy, think it was the greatest game to hit the markets ever. Closely followed by Super Smash Bros. Mario Kart and of course Zelda.
Microsoft seems to be counting on this game selling a lot of 360's, and I expect it will. Some of the obsession with the game is a little disturbing, looking to my right I can see the Legendary Edition sitting on a co-workers desk (the one that comes with a bloody helment.
Halo fans are just as weird as any other rabid fan. Anyways, I was never too impressed with the game. Halo 2 had a really nice multiplayer matchmaking system, I'll give them credit for that. Outside of that, all they did was take a solid (but not great) PC title and give it to people who had never played a good shooter really (remember Halo was planned for PC until microsoft paid Bungie to change it). That said, reviews for Halo 3 are solid. Then again, with the rabid fandom, anyone who didn't give it a good review would lose a lot of credibility from the throngs of Halo players. The co-op 4p online campaign is a great addition. I'll play it at my old roommates place and see how I like it. My guess is I won't, especially because I am so into TF2 beta atm. I have considered a 360 or PS3 though, but what always turns me off is the reality that I really don't have the time to invest in enjoying it. ATM I have 3 NEW games that I love that I don't have enough time to play. Furthermore there are still older games that my friends want to play with me.
Highly recommended. I'm not sure of the backwards compatability of 1&2, but if I were just getting into it I'd consider picking up a 360 instead of the standard issue XBox. Join the forum over there and check it out. And what's wrong with the helment pack people? I think it's pretty damn cool and properly cared for will bring a hefty price down the line considering it's limited availability.
Xbox 360 will play halo 1 and halo 2, did when i first got it. Oh and argos have been fined £100,000 by microsoft for selling the game a week early and lost some sort of deal they had for other games. Was told this by the girl in blockbusters today when i was preordering it.
I'd heard they were in trouble for that. It's not the first time they've done it. I saw people selling them on E-Bay for silly money.
Meijers is in a similar situation. The Meijers nearby released the game a few days early and sold out all of the copies they had. I've heard that some people who found out bought 5-10 copies to sell online. I've also heard that anyone who's Xbox is detected as playing Halo 3 before release date would have their live account banned. This is just hearsay so who knows if it is true.
Only people who will be banned are people who work for MS and playing halo 3 early. The matchmaking server is turned off til the 25th.
As Darkening said it is just a rumour. Microsoft employees apparently run that risk but the general public is fine. With stores breaking shelf date there will be so many people getting an early copy without even realising that bricking their 360's would be a PR disaster.
in 12 hours when blockbuster opens Think you got my xbl message when i saw everyone on my friends list playing halo 3
eh, it takes a while to really charge. Rockets are better and no I haven't darkening. And the only reasons I stopped playin h3 was 'cuz my batteries crapped out and I don't want to piss off my mom by not doing my homework
oh, my friend's extra disc was partially scratched. Wonder if it works his game disc works fine though.
Something that can take out a vehicle in one shot can take a while to recharge if it wants. Anyway, it's probably not affected by the Gravity Hammer, which missles seem to be.
My buddy told me the logo on the soliders shoulder is practically the same as the MSU Spartan logo. He colored his guy Green and White
Absolutely gorgeous. Fun to boot. Still can't play it worth a damn, though - still have yet to find a FPS that I can play with anything but a keyboard and mouse.
AGREED! I have been actually pretty good at console shooters in the past but I still fuckin hate them compared to keyboard + mouse. I have heard that the 360 can in fact recognize usb keyboards and mice. It's up to the individual games however to support them. It'd really be a GIANT step towards me wanting a 360 if they told me you could play halo 3 with keyboard and mouse. I should note that PS3 will support keyboard + mouse for Unreal Tournament 3. I also heard that this game will allow cross-platform multiplayer for PC, 360, and PS3. If that's true, I'm gonna laugh my ass off when everyone without a mouse gets totally crushed.
