Still seems to be moving in the same cycles as always, from my point of view.

But I feel different. Less inclined to waste energy arguing with the unworthy, anymore.

    Nothing.

He started a rep war, like the brave rep warrior he was, but then just decided not to stick around for some reason.

Faceman's signature is something of a Reader's Digest version of events...

It's missing some key points. Like how a week after we started he turned off his rep, renamed his username at TBBS to "Slider" and began posting there until he was outed. I'm sure he's created a dual here now, to start anew.

I remember joining here a while after WF was formed, (although I missed the original exodus), and for a while I didn't mention it over at TrekBBS because I thought it might get me banned.

It would have for a while. It got most of the people here banned.

I remember when they were banning people for having wordforge.net in their signature.

Seriously? I had WF in my signature at one point, although it didn't say Wordforge, I think it said something like "Click here for intelligent conversation" or something similar.

Well they banned Cassandra for  or some such smilie in a ENT troll thread. That was her entire contribution - that and association with the person who started the thread.

They banned me for...being a "git" as Lisa put it. I hadn't posted in a week and suddenly, bam. Locked out.

Ah yes, Actormike's greatest troll thread. Somehow I magically survived although I was one of the first people to post and was egging it on "Oh teh noos, how could they do this?!?!"

Hmmm, I see the same cycles as usual. Except with less "characters".
I'm just too busy to argue these days. Mostly, I come by to check out the blue and green room these days and in general keep up on how everyone is doing. I do think things should pick up around here as we get closer to the 2008 election. Look for a big heat up next summer and fall.

What about Storm? Is he still here? He's an asshole, but he's entertaining.

Television Without Pity once warned me because I linked to an article about one of the shows to another BBS, and they told me not to link to "rival BBS's" :wtf:

How does a "rival BBS" even exist? It's not like you can't visit two (or more!) boards at one time. And if a person gets sick of one board, they'll eventually leave your place anyway, alternative or not.

I did get quite a few slaps on the wrist for pimping WF out when I first joined up though. But admittedly, I was rather obnoxious about the way I did it. :marathon:

If the supposed "rival BBS" is of a similar focus, it could be that it was part of the advertising agreement, designed to keep people on the board and reading or possibly clicking the ads. Or, hell, it could be that the board itself wants you reading and clicking those ads so that they can make even more money - 'tis the capitalist way. When it comes to forums advertising, there are some bizarre deals out there.

Now, if the two forums were totally different, then they're just being dicks.

It was in a soap opera thread linking to a soap forum.

But that place was warned for a hell of a lot less. I told someone their quote was the funniest one I'd read on the board ever, and a mod PM'ed saying that I was talking about the boards on the board. I made this screecap for another forum I post at to show what I was talking about:

What in God's green earth about that post warranted a whole PM about this?! :wtf:

    What's changed...

People are far to willing to constantly talk about their relationships... It gets annoying after a while.
